What should I look for when buying a used Honda Accord Hybrid?
Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 83.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2026 | 90.7% |
| 2025 | 89.2% |
| 2024 | 86.5% |
| 2023 | 84.8% |

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.
Key things to evaluate:
- Fuel efficiency: The Accord Hybrid makes just 12 horsepower more than the regular Accord gets from its turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four, but it's how the power is applied and felt that makes the hybrid's higher cost worth the difference. A 2.0-liter inline-four running on the lazier Atkinson cycle makes just 146 hp and 134 pound-feet of torque. Paired with two electric motors and a small battery, the powertrain can produce 204 hp and 247 lb-ft—a substantial torque increase over the gas model's 192 lb-ft. Fuel economy is exceptional, although the EPA estimates are on par with the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. The best numbers are on the EX-L with the smallest 17-inch wheels and tires: 51 mpg city, 44 mpg highway, and 48 mpg combined. All other trims—which have 19-inch wheels and tires—are rated at 46 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 44 mpg combined.
Which Honda Accord Hybrid trim should I buy?
The 2026 Honda Accord Hybrid offers these trims:
- Sport: The base trim starts at $35,090 with destination and brings the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa connectivity, a wireless phone charger, HondaLink connected services, and a strong mix of standard safety features. It suits you if you want the entry point with the core Accord Hybrid experience.
- EX-L: This is the best-value trim because it adds more amenities while also delivering the highest fuel economy ratings thanks to its smaller 17-inch wheels and tires. It suits you if you want the most efficient version with a more upscale feel.
- Sport-L: This trim adds leather seating and black window trim and black badges on the trunk, giving the Accord Hybrid a more distinctive look and a richer cabin.
- Touring: The top trim adds a 12-speaker Bose stereo, Google built-in integration with maps and navigation, a head-up display, HD radio, rear automatic emergency braking, and front and rear parking sensors. It suits you if you want the most fully equipped Accord Hybrid.
What Honda Accord Hybrid do most buyers choose?
The Honda Accord Hybrid years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 3,389 | 32.4% |
| 2025 | 2,922 | 32.8% |
| 2023 | 2,688 | 32.4% |
| 2026 | 1,431 | 32.2% |
| 2022 | 1,329 | 31% |
| 2021 | 571 | 30.8% |
Those higher-volume years tend to be popular because they combine broad availability with newer features and strong pricing. They also give you more choices across trims and condition levels, which makes it easier to find the right fit.
What is the Honda Accord Hybrid's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $31,080 | −3.81% |
| 2021 | $22,857 | −3.79% |
| 2023 | $26,743 | −3.73% |
| 2020 | $21,207 | −2.95% |
| 2024 | $28,315 | −2.94% |
| 2022 | $24,411 | −2.41% |
| 2017 | $16,116 | −1.8% |
| 2018 | $18,721 | −1.08% |
| 2019 | $20,115 | +1.21% |
Most model years are moving down in price, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The declines are generally modest, with several recent years showing similar downward movement. One older model year is edging up, but the overall pattern still points to improving value for buyers.
The 2019, 2018, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −3.81% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −2.94%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 32.8% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 32.4%.

Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: The latest model pairs a 2.0-liter inline-four with two electric motors for 204 hp and 247 lb-ft, and it returns 51 mpg city, 44 mpg highway, and 48 mpg combined on the EX-L.
- Tech: The latest model adds a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa connectivity, a wireless phone charger, and HondaLink connected services.
- Safety: The latest model adds Traffic Jam Assist, rear automatic emergency braking on the Touring, and front and rear parking sensors on all trims other than the Sport and Sport-L.
- Starting price: $35,090
If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Fuel economy is incredible! Vehicle is very quiet, but sounds like a space vehicle at low speeds. Honda really did a great job with new design and features of the car. Unsure how leather seats will weather yet, but my cars are all maintained well inside and out.

This car is absolutely amazing. So many features and such a smooth ride. It feels like you’re literally gliding down the road and it is amazing on gas with up to 47 MPG on the highway. 5 star safety features and I can see why it’s the best Sedan in 2024. It is a little on the pricey side for the fully loaded option but you definitely get what you’re paying for .

I have owned this car for only one week but have already put more than 1600 miles on it. So far, I am impressed with the performance and MPG. I have averaged 44 MPG in combined City and highway driving. It was very comfortable on the long road trip as well. My only complaint so far is that the SPORT-L does not have the rear vents or USB ports. Hondas different trim levels dont really make sense. You get the rear vents and USB on the EX-L but not on the SPORT-L. Doesnt make sense to me. Other than that very pleased with the car so far

Honda Accord Hybrid test drive
overall

The Accord is the best hybrid sedan in the midsize segment.
An affordable car can be enjoyable to drive and make drivers look respectable. That’s what the Honda Accord has done for 50 years and 11 generations, because it's a name everyone knows and trusts. Less well known is the Accord Hybrid, which makes up only 30% of Accord sales due to its higher starting price. Honda hasn't made the Accord all-hybrid like the Toyota Camry, so the gas-only LX and SE trims continue to lead in sales. But if buyers have wiggle room in their budgets for an MSRP between $35,000 and $40,000, they'll find more amenities and performance, plus fuel efficiency that tops 50 mpg in a near-perfect package.
Verdict: With the current-generation hybrid, the Accord is still writing the book on refinement and style for less.
