Expert reviews rate the 2024 model among the highest across all years. The main trade-offs called out in recent expert coverage are its unintuitive technology, the overabundance of on-screen controls, and the way some secondary functions require extra menu digging. 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

For used buyers, that combination points to a model that may reward careful shopping and a thorough test drive, especially if you plan to keep it long term.
What should I look for when buying a used BMW i5?

Which BMW i5 trim should I buy?

- xDrive40: This trim adds dual-motor all-wheel drive, 389 horsepower, and stronger traction, making it the smart pick if you want more all-weather confidence and extra performance.
- M60 xDrive: This top trim adds 593 horsepower, 586 lb-ft of torque, and a sport-tuned adaptive suspension for the quickest, most performance-focused i5.

Poorly designed and engineered. Make extreme high fan noise during and after super fast charging sessions, unlike all other luxury Evs that do not. (Electrify America). Also constant clunking sound during and shortly after departing from sessions. Signs of defect and overheating, safety concerns not addressed by purchasing dealer and manufacture.
