Which BMW i5 trim should I buy?
The 2024 BMW i5 offers these trims:
- eDrive40: The entry trim brings rear-wheel drive, 335 horsepower, and the longest range in the lineup, making it the best-value choice for most shoppers who want the i5's core strengths.
- xDrive40: This trim adds dual-motor all-wheel drive, 389 horsepower, and quicker acceleration, so it suits you if you want more traction and stronger all-weather confidence.
- M60 xDrive: The top trim adds 593 horsepower, 586 lb-ft of torque, and a sport-tuned adaptive suspension for the strongest performance in the lineup.
What BMW i5 do most buyers choose?
The BMW i5 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

| 2024 | 217 | 36.4% |
| 2026 | 137 | 34.3% |
| 2027 | 79 | 32.9% |

What is the BMW i5's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $58,460 | −11.28% |
| 2024 | $50,920 | −6.41% |
Both model years show price declines, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. Poorly designed and engineered. Make extreme high fan noise during and after super fast charging sessions, unlike all other luxury Evs that do not. (Electrify America). Also constant clunking sound during and shortly after departing from sessions. Signs of defect and overheating, safety concerns not addressed by purchasing dealer and manufacture.
