The 2024 Audi SQ8 is an athletic and bold midsize luxury SUV. Its potent powertrain and sharp handling make the already-fantastic Q8 an even more exciting drive.
What’s New for the 2024 Audi SQ8
The SQ8 gets several styling updates for the 2024 model year. The most notable change is the aluminum that adorns the grille and front air intakes. The vehicle also gets a new front spoiler and rear diffuser design.
Design
In addition to the aforementioned styling updates, the SQ8 is also available with visual option packages that swap out the aluminum for dark accents. There is also a visual options package that replaces some exterior styling elements with carbon fiber components. The SQ8 comes standard with 22-inch alloy wheels and is available with 23-inch wheels.
Powertrain
The athletic Audi SQ8 is motivated by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. It produces 500 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). The SQ8 also boasts performance brakes, four-wheel steering, and an adaptive air suspension. It's capable of launching from zero to 60 mph in four seconds.
EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2024 SQ8 are 15 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined. The SQ8 requires premium fuel. When properly equipped, the Audi SQ8 can tow up to 7,700 pounds. An available S Sport Package adds a sport rear differential, active roll stabilization, and red brake calipers.
Interior
Trims of the SQ8 are Premium Plus and Prestige. Standard features on the Premium Plus include leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and quad-zone automatic climate control.
A Luxury package is available on the Prestige that adds a Dinamica premium microsuede headliner, expanded leather upholstery, and even massaging front seats.
The SQ8 provides up to 60.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded and 30.5 cubic feet of space with the rear seats in use. The SQ8 comes standard with a power rear liftgate.
Technology
The infotainment setup in the SQ8 consists of two screens in the center console. The 8.6-inch lower screen operates the seat controls and other vehicle settings, while the 10.1-inch upper screen operates the navigation, stereo, and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other standard tech features include wireless device charging, four USB ports, and a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo. A 23-speaker stereo is available.
Safety
The SQ8 comes equipped with a number of driver-assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors. The Prestige trim adds traffic-sign recognition and a head-up display. It is also available with a forward-facing night-vision camera.
Pricing
At the time of this writing, the 2024 Audi SQ8 has a base MSRP of $96,600 for the Premium Plus trim. The Prestige starts at $103,600. The S Sport Package adds $6,000 to that price, the Bang & Olufsen 23-speaker premium stereo is a $5,000 option, the Luxury Package adds $4,350, and the Night Vision is a $2,500 standalone option. The Audi SQ8 is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty.
