What’s New for the 2024 Audi SQ5 Sportback

For the 2024 model year, the SQ5 Sportback adds standard adaptive cruise control. Additionally, the Black Optics Package is offered on more trims and can be selected with roof racks. Some safety tech now has expanded capabilities.

Design

The defining characteristic of the SQ5 Sportback is its coupe-like profile. The SQ5 also features 20-inch wheels and aerodynamic side skirts. Trims for the SQ5 Sportback are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The range-topping Prestige has Matrix-design LED headlights with headlight washers.

Powertrain

The SQ5 Sportback comes equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine. It produces 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) system. This powertrain returns fuel economy of 19 mpg city, 24 highway, and 21 combined. The Audi SQ5 Sportback requires premium fuel.

The SQ5 Sportback can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds-not bad for a vehicle that weighs around 4,300 pounds. It manages that weight through corners thanks to its adaptive damping suspension system and performance brakes. The Premium Plus trim adds a limited-slip rear differential and an adaptive air suspension.

Interior

The SQ5’s five-passenger cabin comes outfitted in leather and suede upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, and tri-zone automatic climate control. The Premium Plus trim adds a panoramic moonroof, and the Prestige trim adds heated rear seats.

The SQ5 Sportback provides up to 51.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. With the rear seats in use, the Sportback provides 24.7 cubic feet of cargo space. That’s down from the (non-Sportback) SQ5 SUV’s max cargo space of 54 cubic feet and 25.8 cubic feet, respectively. The SQ5 Sportback comes standard with a power rear liftgate.

Technology

The SQ5 Sportback comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is easy to use and comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include a pair of USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 10-speaker stereo system, and a wireless phone charging pad. The Premium Plus trim adds a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system.

Safety

Audi equips the SQ5 Sportback with a host of advanced driver-assistance features. That includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Moving up to the Premium Plus adds a 360-degree parking camera system and Traffic-Jam assist, which maintains speed and centers the vehicle in a highway lane. The Prestige trim adds a head-up display.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, base MSRP for the 2024 Audi SQ5 Sportback is $60,400 for the Premium trim. The Premium Plus trim starts at $63,400 and the Prestige starts at $68,500. The SQ5 Sportback comes with a four-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty.
