What’s New for the 2024 Audi Q5 Sportback

For the 2024 model year, changes are modest, but they do include adaptive cruise control and adaptive cruise assist now as standard features. The Black Optics package, previously exclusive to the Prestige trim, has been expanded to the Premium Plus as well.

Design

Thanks to its fastback roof, the Q5 Sportback has an athletic presence. Trims are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. No matter which trim you select, the Q5 Sportback comes with the S-Line appearance, which includes 19-inch alloy wheels and sporty design elements. Stepping up to the Prestige adds Audi’s Matrix-design LED headlights with headlight washers.

Powertrain

There is only one powertrain offered in the Q5 Sportback, and that is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). Audi says this setup can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 130 mph.

EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2024 Audi Q5 Sportback are 22 mpg city, 28 highway, and 24 combined. The Q5 Sportback requires premium fuel.

Interior

Standard equipment on the Premium trim includes a push-button start, tri-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The Premium Plus trim adds a power-adjustable steering wheel. The Prestige trim adds creature comforts such as heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, heated and cooled front cup holders, and rear sunshades.

The Q5 Sportback provides 24.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 51.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Despite its fastback design, that’s not too far off from the space offered by the standard Q5 SUV (25.8 and 54, respectively). A power liftgate is standard equipment.

Technology

Audi provides the 2024 Q5 Sportback with a sharp-looking 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes standard with a 10-speaker stereo, two USB ports, and an HD radio. The Premium Plus adds a 19-speaker premium stereo system and a fully digital instrument panel. The Prestige includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless device charging, and navigation for the infotainment system.

Safety

The Q5 Sportback comes standard with a host of advanced driver-assistance features. This includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Premium Plus trim adds a 360-degree parking camera system, and the Prestige trim adds traffic-sign recognition, hands-free parking assist, and a head-up display.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, base MSRP for the 2024 Audi Q5 Sportback is $51,500 for the Premium trim, $54,700 for the Premium Plus, and $59,700 for the range-topping Prestige trim. The Q5 Sportback is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile limited and powertrain warranty.
