What’s New for the 2024 Audi Q5

For 2024, adaptive cruise control is now standard, as is a heated steering wheel. The MyAudi smartphone app now includes remote-start capability as standard equipment. The Black Optics package is now available on a broader segment of the lineup.

Design

Trims for the Q5 are Premium, Premium Plus, and the range-topping Prestige. The Premium trim comes fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. Moving up to the Premium Plus trim adds 19-inch alloy wheels. The Prestige trim includes Matrix-design LED headlights with headlight washers. The available Black Optics package adds unique 20-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, black exterior trim, and other black styling elements.

Powertrain

There are two powertrains offered on the Q5, designated 40 and 45. Both are outfitted with turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines of varying output. The Q5 40 makes 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, while the Q5 45 puts out 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) to Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). The more powerful Q5 45 has a stated zero-to-60 time of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.

Fuel economy estimates for the 2024 Audi Q5 40 are 23 mpg city, 29 highway, and 26 combined. The Q5 45 returns estimates of 22 mpg city, 28 highway, and 24 combined. Both engines require premium fuel.

Interior

Standard features on the Q5 include tri-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Available features include ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and even heated and cooled cupholders.

The Q5 provides 25.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, accessed via a standard power liftgate. With the rear seats folded, the Q5 provides up to 54 cubic feet of cargo space.

Technology

Audi’s MMI infotainment system is easy to use and is housed in a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes an HD radio, two USB ports, and a 10-speaker stereo. The Premium Plus trim adds a fully digital instrument panel, satellite radio, and a 19-speaker premium stereo system. The range-topping Prestige trim provides features such as wireless device charging, navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Safety

A number of advanced driver-assistance features come as standard equipment on the 2024 Q5, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. It also comes standard with front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Premium Plus trim adds a 360-degree parking camera system, and the Prestige includes a head-up display, hands-free parking assist, and traffic-sign recognition.

At the time of this writing, base MSRP for the 2024 Audi Q5 is $44,600 for the 40 Premium. The 45 Premium starts at $47,500. The 40 Premium Plus starts at $49,400, and the 45 Premium Plus starts at $52,300. The 40 Prestige starts at $54,900, and the 45 Prestige starts at $57,400.
