The 2023 Aston Martin Vantage is a menacing and raucous two-seat exotic sports car. The Vantage V8 was introduced for the 2018 model year, and now the V12 engine returns for the 2023 model year. The Vantage is offered in coupe and roadster body styles.
The Vantage features an advanced architecture and chassis that uses bonded aluminum, keeping the curb weight down close to 3,300 pounds (svelte for a new car in 2023). With the front-mounted engine tucked as close to the firewall as possible, the Vantage exhibits dynamic handling to complement its intimate, lavish cockpit.
The Vantage is available in V8, F1 Edition, and V12 trims. The Vantage V8 comes equipped with a “square” steering wheel, leather interior, push-button shifter, automatic climate control, a premium stereo system, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-inch infotainment display, operated via a rotary dial. Buyers can opt for a touchpad, but what you cannot get on the Vantage are modern tech features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The F1 Edition is offered to commemorate Aston Martin’s Formula One team, as well as the use of the Vantage as F1’s race-day safety car for numerous race weekends throughout the F1 season. The Vantage F1 Edition was literally developed alongside Aston Martin’s Vantage Safety Car. It features aerodynamic exterior modifications, more focused suspension and steering, and a hotter version of the V8 engine.
The Vantage V12 announces its arrival with stunning bodywork, including a large, curving rear spoiler and a massive diffuser under the rear bumper. If the V12 Vantage has piqued your interest, don’t hold your breath… all 333 examples of the 12-cylinder monster have been sold.
The standard engine in the Vantage is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, making 503 horsepower. The F1 Edition also uses the twin-turbo V8, but tuned to put out 527 horsepower. The Vantage V12 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 engine which makes a stupendous 700 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission or available seven-speed manual transmission.
The V8 Coupe, F1 Edition, and V12 Roadster all sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. The fastest of the bunch is the V12 Coupe, doing the same run in 3.5 seconds. The V12 Vantage has a top speed of 200 mph, while all other versions top out at 195 mph.
The most efficient version of the Vantage is the V8 with the automatic transmission. It returns fuel economy of 18 mpg city, 24 highway, and 20 combined. The Vantage V12 with the automatic transmission returns 14 mpg city, 22 highway, and 16 combined. The Aston Martin Vantage requires premium fuel.
