Is the 2024 BMW X6 M a good car?

The 2024 BMW X6 M is a good fit if you want a luxury SUV with a more dramatic profile and a performance-first identity. The X6 line was built around a coupe-like SUV shape that prioritizes style and a sportier feel over practicality, and the X6 M is the extreme version engineered by BMW’s motorsports division.

For 2024, the model also got a refresh with updated lighting, new fascias and bumpers, new wheels, more power for the xDrive40i, and an optional Highway Assistant for hands-free driving. It also gained a larger curved display with upgraded software and fewer physical controls, which reinforces its modern, high-tech appeal even if that layout won’t suit every buyer.

The tradeoff is that the X6 has long been criticized for poor cargo space and poor fuel economy, so it makes the most sense if you value style, performance, and upscale presence more than maximum utility. With 38.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW X6 M reliable?

The 2024 BMW X6 M is presented as a high-end, performance-focused luxury SUV with strong equipment levels and upscale features. Its identity is built around a more aggressive character, and the 2024 refresh adds modern electronics and mechanical updates that support that positioning.

At the same time, the X6 line is known for poor fuel economy, and the X6 M sits at the expensive, high-maintenance end of the range. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about costly upkeep and the realities of a performance SUV than about basic appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X6 M?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and verify that the vehicle’s condition matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a thorough inspection of wear items, electronics, and any signs of prior damage, since a performance-oriented luxury SUV can hide expensive issues behind a polished presentation.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X6 M or consider a different year?

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the right path if you want the refreshed look, updated tech, and the X6 M’s distinctive performance-first personality. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year can make sense as long as you keep the same focus on condition, history, and maintenance exposure.
