Which Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 offers these trims:

• Plus: A step up in the 2026 XC60 lineup for shoppers who want more equipment while staying close to the core XC60 formula.
• Ultra: The best-value trim, since it keeps the XC60’s sumptuously outfitted cabin and adds the upscale feel that stands out most in this SUV.

What Volvo XC60 do most buyers choose?

The Volvo XC60 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

Those higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you the broadest selection and the easiest shopping experience. They also sit close to the newest model years, which helps keep features and pricing attractive.

What is the Volvo XC60's resale value?

Most XC60 model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it creates more room for value. The steepest drops are concentrated in older and mid-cycle years, while the newest years are falling more slowly. That pattern suggests recent XC60s are still holding closer to their prior pricing than older examples.

The 2025, 2016, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Volvo XC60 safe?

• 2026: 4/10
• 2023: 10/10
• 2022: 9/10
• 2021: 9/10
• 2018: 10/10

For the safest used buy, the 2018 and 2023 models both post the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Volvo XC60 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −1.07% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −7.33%.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generates 247 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, flowing to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
• Tech: A larger, high-resolution 11.2-inch touchscreen display debuts for 2026, and the XC60 includes Google built-in with Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play.
• Safety: The XC60 has an oncoming collision mitigation braking system, intersection braking assist, and Pilot Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
