Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: IQ.Drive, with blind-spot monitoring, active collision avoidance, Lane Assist, and Emergency Assist.
• Infotainment: an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the Jetta SE.
• Fuel efficiency: The Jetta’s window sticker lists an EPA fuel economy rating of 33 mpg in combined driving. We averaged 31.8 mpg during testing in blistering late-summer heat. Notably, we achieved that result using the Sport driving mode the majority of the time. In Normal mode, the Jetta suffers a turbo lag problem, in which there’s a delay between pressing the accelerator pedal and the turbo building up enough boost to provide real thrust. Sport mode mostly resolves that, making the car more pleasurable to drive.

Which Volkswagen Jetta trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta offers these trims:

• S: The entry trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital instrumentation panel, Bluetooth, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Car-Net connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Sport: This trim adds the lowered, sport-tuned suspension and is a strong value choice if you want a more engaging driving feel.
• SE: This trim adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless smartphone charging, and a voice recognition system.
• SEL: This trim adds a configurable 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro driver display, navigation, eight Beats Audio speakers, leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting, upgraded digital instrumentation, and additional comfort features.

What Volkswagen Jetta do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Jetta years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you the broadest selection of trims, prices, and deal opportunities. They also sit close enough to the current model to deliver newer features while still offering used-car savings.

What is the Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which creates better opportunities for used buyers. The steepest drops are concentrated in newer models, while a few older years are changing more slowly.

The 2017, 2023, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• Tech: The Jetta S and Jetta Sport comes standard with Bluetooth, wired versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and access to Car-Net connected services and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The Jetta SE upgrades to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless smartphone charging, and a voice recognition system.
• Safety: Volkswagen equips every 2025 Jetta with IQ.Drive, which is the name for its collection of driver assistance systems and safety features.
