Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Atlas at 25 mpg combined with FWD and 23 mpg with AWD, two mpg better than before in both cases.
• Infotainment: Every Atlas has a 15-inch touchscreen except the base SE, which makes do with a 12.9-inch unit that’s still enormous.

Which Volkswagen Atlas trim should I buy?

The 2027 Volkswagen Atlas offers these trims:

• SE: The entry trim brings a 12.9-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, two Qi2 wireless pads, seven USB-C ports, a nine-speaker stereo, leatherette seating surfaces, a power liftgate, rear sunshades, ambient lighting, and VW’s IQ.Drive suite; it suits you if you want the most affordable way into the redesigned Atlas.
• SE w/Tech: This is the best-value trim, adding the 15-inch touchscreen, factory hitch, remote start, and an illuminated light bar while keeping the Atlas under the market average.
• SEL R-Line: This trim adds Varenna leather, a head-up display, 30-color ambient lighting with backlit door-panel patterns, and AWD standard, giving you a more upscale cabin and a stronger visual presence.
• SEL Premium R-Line: The top trim adds Nappa leather, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon system, a surround-view camera, automatic parking, and the most premium interior presentation.

What Volkswagen Atlas do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Atlas years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you the broadest mix of availability, pricing, and deal opportunities. They also sit close enough to the newest updates to keep the Atlas's space and family-friendly appeal front and center.

What is the Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The Atlas shows broad downward movement across the model years in this table, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The steepest drops are concentrated in the newer years, while the smaller declines at the top of the list suggest some recent models are softening more gradually than others.

The 2023, 2024, and 2019 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
