Is the Toyota Mirai a good car?
Mostly yes — the Toyota Mirai earns a solid owner score across the full model range, and the strongest used listings are concentrated in the newer years. The all-generations owner rating is 3.67/5 across every model year in the data. 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Toyota Mirai models reliable?
Owners and shoppers tend to respond best to the Mirai’s newer model years, and the available ratings show a wide spread across the lineup. The strongest used-market years also cluster around the most recent models, which can make it easier to shop with more confidence.

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2026 | 100% |
| 2025 | 100% |
| 2024 | 98.2% |
| 2023 | 95.8% |
| 2022 | 93.8% |
| 2021 | 90% |
| 2020 | 86.8% |
| 2019 | 80% |
| 2018 | 70.8% |
| 2017 | 72.2% |
| 2016 | 66.7% |
Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2019 models.
What Toyota Mirai do most buyers choose?
The Toyota Mirai years with the most listings are 2022, 2023, and 2024.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|

| 2023 | 72 | 22.2% |
| 2024 | 55 | 21.8% |
| 2021 | 50 | 26% |
| 2020 | 38 | 21.1% |
| 2018 | 24 | 20.8% |

The 2016 I got runs like a brand new luxury car. The challenge is how to plan your trip where you need to make sure you have hydrogen fuel cell station along your route. It is just a matter of getting use to this. And filling up your tank takes around 5 mins, no wasted time. I hope they would increase the stations around california but right now I am fine. If I have a chance I would get another Mirai.

It is eco friendly. It is clearly the car of the future.

The car itself is good but the amount of fuel station is horribly low.
