What should I look for when buying a used Subaru Impreza?

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: EyeSight driver assist suite on all 2024 Subaru Imprezas
• Infotainment: 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; wireless connectivity in the Sport and RS trims
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter base engine is estimated to return 27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 30 mpg in combined driving. The RS is rated only 1 mpg less across the board.

Which Subaru Impreza trim should I buy?

The 2024 Subaru Impreza offers these trims:

• Base: The entry trim brings the 2.0-liter engine, standard AWD, and two 7-inch displays, making it the value-focused starting point.
• Sport: This trim adds the larger 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, the bigger infotainment screen, sportier handling, and a few more convenience and tech features.
• RS: The RS adds the 2.5-liter engine, steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles, sport-tuned suspension, blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency steering, side skirts, and red interior accents; it is the best-value trim if you want the most complete mix of performance and features.

What Subaru Impreza do most buyers choose?

The Subaru Impreza years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread to shop, and a better chance of finding the trim and condition you want. They also tend to attract shoppers looking for a newer used car without moving all the way to the newest model year.

What is the Subaru Impreza's resale value?

Most model years in the table are moving lower year over year, which is good news if you want to buy used and benefit from softer pricing. A few older years are holding value or edging up, showing that some well-regarded examples still command steady demand. The biggest drops are concentrated in the newer used years, which can create stronger opportunities for shoppers.

The 2018 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2015, 2014, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.

Is the Subaru Impreza safe?

• 2024: 6/10
• 2021: 9/10
• 2017: 9/10
• 2015: 9/10
• 2014: 9/10

All 2024 Subaru Imprezas come with the automaker’s EyeSight driver assist suite of safety features.

For the safest used buy, the 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2021 models all post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.
