Rover cars are appreciated for their fun driving experience and distinctive design, making them stand out. Owners particularly like their handling and fuel economy. However, many have concerns about reliability and maintenance costs, with rust and build quality often mentioned negatives. Overall, Rover vehicles appeal to those who enjoy a classic driving feel, but potential buyers should be cautious about long-term reliability.

The rover 420 GSi was the car i really loved, it was fast, rare, economical and handled like a big go-kart. It had lots of room and a great half leather GSi interior. I put a K&N airfilter on which made the 2 litre 16v engine sound great! I miss it :(
Still with all its original paint, interior and even a dealership sticker this is a great fun nippy little car. It looks great, sounds great, is a brilliant talking point - everybody loves minis. It holds its own amongst much bigger engined newer cars. Brakes and handling are top notch. Steering is light and maneuverable. Sadly minis rust for fun but as long as they are looked after they run forever. Brilliant MPG. And best of all its 100% BMW free.
Build Quality: For a car renowned for being notoriously unreliable, this car hasn't gone wrong once since i acquired it in 2005. It's in the (slow) process of being restored, with new panels planned, as well as a respray. Till then, minor modifications have been made. Car Comparisons: This car was given to me for free. I didn't have the c
Its got excellent handling due to it being about as small as a shoe, its light and nippy. Build quality does leave something to be desired in the simple fact that there can be some severe rust spots that develop. Exterior styling... its a John Cooper 500 original panels, it looks terrific. Interior is brushed aluminium with black and grey leather with the cooper sports pack. Its very good mpg due to it being 998CC. But best of all its great fun to drive!
Pack kit makes this car a hell in humps and bumps, but on the smooth asphalt everything is forgotten. Handling, looks and low running costs are the main attractions and love/hate relationship is a sure and everyday thingie. I bought this car in 2003. The main reason for buying it was because I previously liked driving Mini in Rally Trophy car simulator. So, the PC-game was really expensive in the end! I selected as low mileage car as possible, because I have no car mechanics skills. So, I found really expensive car from Germany which was not driven in 2,5 years and got only 8200 kilometers driven. Since buying it in October 28th 2003, it has been drived 20000 per year (in 2007 I drove over 27000, because it has been my only car since spring 2006). I hope it continues to be as reliable as it has been - knocking the wood...
