The Porsche Panamera's current nationwide average price is $58,015, and its year-round low is $47,349.49. That gives you a useful snapshot of where this model sits right now within its own used inventory. The spread between the low and high end shows there is still room to shop carefully by year and trim.
Recently, prices have come down for the 2022, 2023, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.
Is the Porsche Panamera a good car?
Yes — the Porsche Panamera is a strong choice if you want a used luxury performance sedan with real everyday usability. The all-generations owner rating is 4.63/5 across every model year in the data.
Owners consistently praise the Panamera for its performance, handling, and upscale interior quality. They also value the car’s four-door practicality, especially its passenger space and cargo versatility, while the driving experience remains a major part of the appeal.
Expert reviews rate the 2017 and 2021 models among the highest across all years.
The main trade-offs center on ownership costs, brake feel on some versions, and the value equation on pricier trims. Even so, the Panamera’s blend of speed, comfort, and utility makes it a compelling used buy if you want something that feels special every day.
25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Porsche Panamera models reliable?
Owners and experts consistently praise the Panamera for its strong performance, high-quality cabin, and polished driving feel. Across the model years, reviews also point to the car’s comfort, practicality, and overall sense of engineering quality.
- Owners rate the Porsche Panamera between 3.5 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied more to premium-car upkeep and repair costs than to the Panamera’s core driving character.
What should I look for when buying a used Porsche Panamera?

| 2017 | 74.8% |
| 2016 | 73.8% |
| 2015 | 68.9% |
| 2014 | 66.5% |
Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2018 models.
Key things to evaluate:
- Fuel efficiency: In combined driving, the EPA says it should return fuel economy of 20 mpg, and on our mountainous Southern California testing loop, the Panamera Platinum Edition averaged 19.3 mpg.
Which Porsche Panamera trim should I buy?
The 2023 Porsche Panamera offers these trims:
- Panamera: The standard body style with the base twin-turbo V6 and rear-wheel drive gives you the core Panamera experience, plus the model’s signature luxury-performance character and strong everyday usability.
- Panamera Platinum Edition: This is the best-value trim if you want a more richly equipped setup, adding exclusive detailing, unique 21-inch wheels, a sport exhaust system, and the Premium Package with heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, four-zone climate control, Bose audio, adaptive LED headlights, and blind-spot monitoring.
- Panamera Executive: The extended-wheelbase version suits you if you want more rear-seat room while keeping the Panamera’s sporty feel.
- Panamera Sport Turismo: The sport wagon body style adds extra cargo versatility and easier access to the back seats.
- Panamera 4: This all-wheel-drive version suits buyers who want AWD in the lineup.
- Panamera 4 E-Hybrid: The plug-in hybrid setup adds substantial performance and electric assistance.
- Panamera 4S E-Hybrid: This version adds even more hybrid performance.
- Panamera GTS: The GTS adds a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and a more performance-focused character.
- Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid: This trim adds extreme performance at the top of the range.
- Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid: The range-topper adds the most intense performance in the lineup.
What Porsche Panamera do most buyers choose?
The Porsche Panamera years with the most listings are 2024, 2022, and 2019.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 393 | 27.7% |
| 2022 | 336 | 29.2% |
| 2019 | 333 | 25.5% |
| 2017 | 329 | 24% |
| 2023 | 317 | 28.7% |
| 2018 | 317 | 25.6% |
Higher-volume years usually give you more choices across trims, colors, and price points, which makes it easier to compare listings side by side. They also tend to be the years shoppers return to most often because inventory depth helps you find a better match for your budget and feature priorities.
What is the Porsche Panamera's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2014 | $22,226 | −9.89% |
| 2015 | $24,364 | −9.7% |
| 2017 | $40,338 | −9.17% |
| 2018 | $43,513 | −8.87% |
| 2016 | $25,281 | −8.28% |
| 2022 | $74,560 | −7.41% |
| 2023 | $84,086 | −7.14% |
| 2025 | $110,555 | −4.12% |
| 2021 | $64,835 | −3.64% |
| 2019 | $53,443 | −3.39% |
| 2020 | $58,644 | +0.74% |
Most model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want more value than you would have gotten a year ago. The declines are especially pronounced in several older years, while a few newer ones are falling more gradually. One model year is essentially flat to slightly up, which shows that pricing is not moving in exactly the same direction across the lineup.
The 2020 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.
The 2020, 2019, and 2021 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Is the Porsche Panamera safe?
- 2023: 5/10
- 2021: 6/10
- 2017: 7/10
Porsche fortifies the Panamera Platinum Edition with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with a lane-change assist function, and parking sensors.
For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.
Should I buy a used Porsche Panamera now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −4.12% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −7.14%.
- Deal availability: The 2023 model has 28.7% good and great deals.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings. The Porsche Panamera offers a distinctive blend of sports-car character, luxury, and four-door practicality that makes it feel special without giving up everyday usefulness.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: The base Panamera and Panamera Platinum Edition have a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 engine generating 325 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 331 pound-feet of torque between 1,800 rpm and 5,000 rpm.
- Tech: The infotainment system features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, and Connect Plus connected services.
- Safety: Adaptive cruise control is newly standard on all 2023 Panameras.
- Starting price: Our test car arrived in Platinum Edition specification, which commands nearly a $13,000 premium over the standard base model.
If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for 2028 inventory to mature.

Customers say
The Porsche Panamera consistently impresses drivers with its blend of performance and luxury across model years. Owners frequently highlight its exceptional handling, powerful engines, and high-quality interiors that enhance the driving experience. While many appreciate its practical aspect as a four-door sedan, concerns about maintenance costs and value depreciation are common critiques. The sporty feel and advanced features are often favored, although some drivers find comfort compromised for performance at times.

This is an example of when its nice, its really nice, when its bad, its really bad. The First generation Panamera offers style, comfort, performance and a grand touring option to the Porsche line up. Driving a nice example of one it offers a fantastic experience with responsive handling, engine and transmission performance. The interior can be well optioned with different styling and comfort features. I have driven many of all of the trims from Base to Turbo S and generally found them to be a solid drivers car. That being said this car will burn your wallet faster than you can blink if you are not careful. You can get a lot of car for around 25-30k but it comes at the cost of expensive maintenance. In addition these cars are approaching more than 10 years old, and will require age related repairs. I would not recommend owning one of these unless you have double the asking price for repairs.

Why it stands out
The 2017 Porsche Panamera stands out because it brings Porsche’s sports-car character to a large luxury four-door. The expert test drive data says the Panamera was Porsche’s first-ever sedan and that the surprise was how a sedan could perform at the highest levels exhibited by the company’s 911 sports cars. It also says the second-generation Panamera was all-new for 2017 and moved performance, style, and technology to the next forefront.
That combination makes the 2017 Panamera appealing to buyers who want luxury without giving up a serious performance edge. The Turbo model described in the test drive data is presented as especially intense, with the blurb calling it “mankind’s closest experience with invincibility,” and the summary says it still had the reviewer’s brain spinning. Owner feedback aligns with that impression, with praise for the car’s power, handling, and spacious interior. The main cautions are less about the driving experience itself and more about ownership concerns, including rapid depreciation and occasional attention from other drivers on the highway.
