| 2019 | $53,827 | $51,350 – $56,603 |
| 2018 | $44,006 | $42,845 – $47,782 |
| 2017 | $40,770 | $39,962 – $44,829 |

| 2014 | $22,509 | $22,005 – $24,605 |
The Porsche Panamera's current nationwide average price is $57,884, and its year-round low is $47,370.80. That gives you a useful snapshot of where this model sits right now across the years in the data. The spread between the low and high end shows that newer Panameras command a premium, while older model years open up a much lower entry point.
Recently, prices have come down for the 2022, 2023, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.
Is the Porsche Panamera a good car?
Yes — the Porsche Panamera earns strong owner approval across the full range of model years in the data.
The all-generations owner rating is 4.63/5 across every model year in the data.
Owners consistently praise the Panamera for its performance, handling, and luxury feel. The cabin quality and practical four-door layout also come up often as major strengths, especially when you want a car that feels special without giving up everyday usability. Across the reviews, the blend of sporty driving character and upscale interior presentation stands out as the core appeal.
Expert reviews rate the 2017 and 2021 models among the highest across all years.
The trade-offs tend to center on ownership costs, value, and some comfort or brake-related concerns in recent expert reviews. Even so, the Panamera remains a compelling used pick if you want a luxury performance sedan with a distinctive character and strong all-around appeal.
29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Porsche Panamera models reliable?
Owners and experts consistently praise the Panamera for its strong performance, upscale cabin, and polished driving feel. The model’s reputation is built around a mix of power, handling, and everyday usability that holds up well across the years in the data.
- Owners rate the Porsche Panamera between 3.5 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied more to premium-car running costs and age-related wear than to the Panamera’s core appeal, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.
What should I look for when buying a used Porsche Panamera?
Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 80.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2027 | 100% |
| 2026 | 99.1% |
| 2025 | 98.9% |
| 2024 | 94.3% |

| 2021 | 85.1% |
| 2020 | 83.3% |
| 2019 | 79.9% |
| 2018 | 79% |
| 2017 | 76.8% |
| 2016 | 74.9% |
| 2015 | 69.1% |
| 2014 | 65% |
Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2017 models.
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with a lane-change assist function, and parking sensors
- Infotainment: a 12.3-inch center touchscreen infotainment system with Porsche Communication Management (PCM), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless smartphone charger
- Fuel efficiency: 20 mpg in combined driving; 19.3 mpg on the testing loop
Which Porsche Panamera trim should I buy?
The 2023 Porsche Panamera offers...
- Panamera: The standard Panamera is the starting point, and the expert review focuses on the base twin-turbo V6 and rear-wheel drive setup. It suits you if you want the core Panamera experience with the model’s signature luxury-performance balance.
- Panamera Platinum Edition: This version adds exclusive detailing, unique 21-inch thin-spoke wheels with a satin finish, a sport exhaust system, and the Premium Package. That package brings 14-way power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, heated rear seats, four-zone automatic climate control, a Bose premium sound system, adaptive LED headlights, and blind-spot monitoring. It is the best-value trim if you want the richest equipment mix without moving into more expensive customization.
- Panamera Executive: The extended-wheelbase Executive model adds more rear-seat room for you if passenger comfort matters most.
- Panamera Sport Turismo: The sport wagon body style adds extra trunk space and easier access to the back seats, making it a strong fit if you want the most versatile Panamera shape.
What Porsche Panamera do most buyers choose?
The Porsche Panamera years with the most listings are 2024, 2022, and 2023.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 402 | 28.9% |
| 2022 | 347 | 33.4% |
| 2023 | 328 | 31.7% |
| 2019 | 319 | 29.2% |
| 2017 | 319 | 30.4% |
| 2018 | 300 | 30.3% |
These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right color, trim, and price. They also often attract shoppers looking for a newer-feeling Panamera without stepping all the way into the newest model-year pricing.
What is the Porsche Panamera's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |

| 2015 | $24,350 | −9.99% |
| 2022 | $73,646 | −9.82% |
| 2017 | $40,770 | −9.1% |
| 2014 | $22,509 | −7.83% |
| 2023 | $83,984 | −7.62% |
| 2016 | $25,431 | −7.53% |
| 2018 | $44,006 | −7.41% |
| 2019 | $53,827 | −4.98% |
| 2021 | $64,960 | −4.64% |
| 2025 | $110,990 | −3.91% |
| 2020 | $59,068 | +2.37% |
Most model years are down year over year, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. The steepest drops are concentrated in older and recent-model years alike, while one year in the table is moving upward. Overall, the pattern suggests there are meaningful opportunities for buyers across much of the lineup.
The 2020, 2025, and 2021 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Is the Porsche Panamera safe?
- 2021: 6/10
- 2017: 7/10
For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.
Should I buy a used Porsche Panamera now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −3.91% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −7.62%.
- Deal availability: The 2023 model has 31.7% good and great deals.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings. The Porsche Panamera offers a distinctive blend of luxury, practicality, and sports-car character that makes it feel special in everyday use.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: The latest Panamera pairs a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 with 325 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, plus an eight-speed PDK transmission.
- Tech: The latest Panamera features a 12.3-inch center touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, Connect Plus connected services, and a wireless smartphone charger.
- Safety: The latest Panamera adds adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with a lane-change assist function, and parking sensors.
- Starting price: the base MSRP is $110,820.
If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for 2028 inventory to mature.

Owners frequently highlight its exceptional handling, powerful engines, and high-quality interiors that enhance the driving experience. While many appreciate its practical aspect as a four-door sedan, concerns about maintenance costs and value depreciation are common critiques. The sporty feel and advanced features are often favored, although some drivers find comfort compromised for performance at times.

This is an example of when its nice, its really nice, when its bad, its really bad. The First generation Panamera offers style, comfort, performance and a grand touring option to the Porsche line up. Driving a nice example of one it offers a fantastic experience with responsive handling, engine and transmission performance. The interior can be well optioned with different styling and comfort features. I have driven many of all of the trims from Base to Turbo S and generally found them to be a solid drivers car. That being said this car will burn your wallet faster than you can blink if you are not careful. You can get a lot of car for around 25-30k but it comes at the cost of expensive maintenance. In addition these cars are approaching more than 10 years old, and will require age related repairs. I would not recommend owning one of these unless you have double the asking price for repairs.

Why it stands out
The 2017 Porsche Panamera stands out because it brings Porsche’s sports-car character to a large luxury four-door. The expert test drive data says the Panamera was Porsche’s first-ever sedan and that the surprise was how a sedan could perform at the highest levels exhibited by the company’s 911 sports cars. It also says the second-generation Panamera was all-new for 2017 and moved performance, style, and technology to the next forefront.
That combination makes the 2017 Panamera appealing to buyers who want luxury without giving up a serious performance edge. The Turbo model described in the test drive data is presented as especially intense, with the blurb calling it “mankind’s closest experience with invincibility,” and the summary says it still had the reviewer’s brain spinning. Owner feedback aligns with that impression, with praise for the car’s power, handling, and spacious interior. The main cautions are less about the driving experience itself and more about ownership concerns, including rapid depreciation and occasional attention from other drivers on the highway.
