- Fuel efficiency: 15 miles per gallon in the city, 21 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg combined
Which Porsche Cayenne trim should I buy?
The 2025 Porsche Cayenne offers these trims:
- Cayenne: the entry point with the Cayenne’s core performance character and a strong starting point for buyers who want the model’s driving feel.
- Cayenne GTS: adds a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, 493 hp, 486 lb-ft of torque, sportier steering hardware, Pirelli P Zero tires, stiffer roll bars, a water-cooled transfer case, and active suspension; this is the best-value trim if you want the Cayenne’s performance sweet spot.
- Cayenne S: brings a V8 with 468 hp for buyers who want a stronger step up in power.
- Cayenne Turbo GT: adds 650 hp and sits at the top of the lineup for maximum performance.
- Cayenne Coupe: adds the coupe body style with an adaptive rear spoiler and a sportier profile.
- Cayenne GTS Coupe: combines the GTS hardware with the coupe body style.
- Turbo GT Coupe: combines the top-end Turbo GT performance with the coupe body style.
- Cayenne E-Hybrid: adds plug-in hybrid power for buyers who want electrified performance.
- Cayenne Coupe E-Hybrid: combines plug-in hybrid power with the coupe body style.
What Porsche Cayenne do most buyers choose?
The Porsche Cayenne years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 1,170 | 29.1% |
| 2024 | 1,125 | 31.3% |
| 2023 | 1,065 | 32.5% |
| 2022 | 940 | 33.5% |
| 2026 | 842 | 27.8% |
| 2020 | 659 | 37% |
These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right trim, mileage, and price combination. They also tend to attract shoppers looking for newer features without moving all the way to the newest model year.
What is the Porsche Cayenne's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |

| 2024 | $85,638 | −36.44% |
| 2020 | $33,842 | −21.35% |
| 2017 | $19,706 | −14.8% |
| 2021 | $46,391 | −14.62% |
| 2019 | $30,300 | −13.75% |
| 2022 | $58,124 | −12.47% |
| 2018 | $22,238 | −11.96% |
| 2016 | $18,066 | −11.32% |
| 2023 | $64,650 | −10.04% |
| 2014 | $15,832 | −4.73% |
| 2015 | $20,931 | −3.65% |
| 2025 | $103,310 | +3.26% |
Most model years in the table are down year over year, which creates opportunities for used buyers. The steepest drops are concentrated in newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older years are changing only slightly. The 2025, 2015, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Porsche Cayenne now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2024 model is at −36.44% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −10.04%.
- Deal availability: The 2024 model has 31.3% good and great deals, and the 2023 model has 32.5%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $103,310. The Porsche Cayenne offers a sporty driving character that makes it feel engaging every day.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: The base 3.0-liter V6 is good for 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, the Cayenne S with its V8 produces 468 hp, and there are plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options in both standard and coupe form with as much as 729 hp.
- Tech: The curved 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster is standard, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen display running the Porsche Communication Management system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Safety: Porsche’s advanced adaptive cruise control system called InnoDrive looks ahead nearly two miles to prepare for traffic incidents, and the HD-Matrix Design LED headlamps are standard across all trims.
- Starting price: The base 2025 Porsche Cayenne starts at $86,695 including delivery.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Though an expensive car to maintain, this car really does provide a stellar experience. Great sound. Great features. A relaxed drive. Beautiful car.

Vehicle is known for it performance and even though its a high mileage specimen it is also proven to be maintained because it is still in existence. If it were not maintained it would have never made it as far as it has. Well built these vehicles were designed to do a million miles if maintained. Great into the high miles and still a lot of fun.

Why it stands out
The 2023 Porsche Cayenne stands out as a luxury SUV that still leans hard into Porsche’s performance-first identity. By this point in the third generation, the Cayenne had already established itself as a refined, sturdy, and genuinely quick SUV, and the 2023 model carried that reputation forward. It also remained expensive and came with few standard features, so its appeal is strongest for buyers who value the badge, the driving experience, and the polished feel more than outright value.
For 2023, there were no significant changes, which means the Cayenne continued with the same broad strengths that define this generation. The lineup’s base model used a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, while the Cayenne S used a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 with 434 horsepower and 406 lb-ft. All-wheel drive was standard, and an eight-speed automatic was the only transmission offered. The Cayenne also benefited from a relatively broad set of available and standard driver aids, including features such as frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, parking proximity sensors, a semi-automated parking system, and a traffic sign reader.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Cayenne’s cargo capacity is limited, and maintenance is pricey, which can make ownership more expensive than the initial purchase price suggests. Even so, the 2023 Porsche Cayenne remains appealing because it combines strong performance, a refined interior, and solid construction in a package that feels distinctly Porsche rather than merely another luxury SUV.
