As a more accessible alternative to the iconic 911, the Boxster combines exhilarating performance with everyday usability, making it an ideal choice for those seeking both thrill and comfort in their driving experience. Additionally, its reputation for holding value better than many competitors ensures that buyers can enjoy their investment without excessive depreciation over time.
Other model years to consider
The 2016 Porsche Boxster is a viable option due to its top user rating of 5/5 and a significant 36% of listings being classified as good or great deals, making it a strong choice for potential buyers. The 2005 model offers an attractive average price of $17,747.25 along with a solid user rating of 4.6/5 and 34% good/great deals, providing excellent cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the 2014 model presents a balance between quality and value with an average price of $39,495.15 and a favorable rating of 4.7/5, complemented by the highest percentage of good/great deals at 39%.
Model years to approach with caution
When considering the Porsche Boxster model years of 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2002, potential buyers should approach with caution due to several factors. A significant percentage of listings from these years are classified as not good or great deals, suggesting that price points may be inflated compared to the value offered. Additionally, while user ratings remain relatively high across these models, customer satisfaction could indicate underlying concerns that impact long-term ownership experiences.

A wonderful driving car! Drove it around for 30 minutes and it was pure joy!
Beautiful car, got many compliments on car, looks brand new, rides nice however I’m scared to bring out in streets., but will.
This car drives great. Was low miles. Looks great in my driveway.
The car can be driven every day in confort and with ease through traffic, but when in open roads reaching pass 3,000 rpm the exhaust sound changes and it accelerates with ease to 6,500 rpm in each gear. This car makes you look for twisting roads and the long way to get anywhere. This is an absolute drivers car that never fights the driver and behaves entirely predictibly. The acceleration is not neck snapping, but it is very satisfying at 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, but more importantly when you get to a corner you can stop on a dime or more importantly you can come up to a turn an litteraly break just at the turn then you can power through the turn and exit at roughly twice the posted speed of any mountain road in California. I would have never done this with my previous Mustang with a supercharged V8. It would be absolutely scarry to accelarate through a turn. The build quality is excellent, interior and exterior trim is without rattles and they feel solid. The styling is pure Porsche, clean, simple, timeless. The top can be operated at slow speeds in 2nd gear. The cost of owning this car for 4 years has been less than the cost of owning a Honda Accord or Infiniti for the same miles and years. Two full synthetic oil changes, two brake fluid changes, one new battery and new rear tires. Tires is the most expensive cost of driving this car. If you drive it the way it begs to be driven you will spend money on tires, but you will be happy to spend the money because it will put a smile on your face each time you drive it. The fun starts the moment you wash it which you can do quickly and be on the road to your nearest mountain road diner or you local Costco (Two trunks). No matter your destination it simply will make you enjoy your drive.
