Used Nissan Altima for Sale nearLeeds, UT

How much does the Nissan Altima cost in today's market?

Used Nissan Altima prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Nissan Altima's current nationwide average price is $17,130, and its lowest point over the past year was $16,888. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the Nissan Altima is a strong used-car pick if you want a comfortable, value-focused midsize sedan with broad appeal.

The all-generations owner rating is 4.47/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners repeatedly praise the Altima for its comfort, fuel economy, and easy everyday driving character. Across the lineup, shoppers also tend to like the roomy cabin, smooth ride, and useful technology.

Expert reviews rate the 2016 and 2015 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are familiar ones: some recent years are described as having pedestrian performance, interior materials that feel cheap, and technology that can feel dated. Even so, the Altima remains appealing if you want a sedan that emphasizes comfort, efficiency, and value.

33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Nissan Altima models reliable?

Owners consistently praise the Altima for comfort, fuel economy, and everyday usability, and expert coverage repeatedly highlights its value-oriented character and broad appeal. Across the model years, the strongest feedback centers on smooth driving, practical features, and a cabin that works well for daily use.

• Owners rate the Nissan Altima between 3.83 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully because some model years draw repeated concerns about transmission durability and repair needs.

What should I look for when buying a used Nissan Altima?

Across all model years, at 73.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360
• Infotainment: 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima AWD should get 28 mpg in combined driving, and our test car averaged 28.3 mpg on our mountainous Southern California testing loop. Without it, an Altima should get 31-32 mpg.

Which Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Altima offers these trims:

• S: The entry trim gives you the core Altima formula and keeps the lineup accessible.
• SV: This is the best-value trim, balancing everyday comfort and technology with a broad feature set.
• SV Special Edition: Adds black wheels, a rear spoiler, and comfort and technology upgrades.
• SR: Adds 19-inch wheels, sport suspension, brake-induced torque vectoring, and sport-bolstered front seats for a more athletic look and feel.
• SL: Adds the most advanced safety and infotainment content, including ProPilot Assist 1.0, a surround-view camera system, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

What Nissan Altima do most buyers choose?

The Nissan Altima years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, mileage, and price combination. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and more approachable used pricing.

What is the Nissan Altima's resale value?

Most Altima model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want prices that have softened. The biggest drops are concentrated in several newer and mid-cycle years, while one recent model year is nearly flat. That pattern suggests the Altima is generally giving buyers more room to negotiate than it was a year ago.

The 2023 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2023, 2018, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• Tech: The standard setup has an 8-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo, while the Altima SV Special Edition and SL get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, NissanConnect services, a navigation system, and a conversational voice assistant.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
