Nissan 240SX Overview
The Nissan 240SX was a replacement for the 200SX, which went on a multi-year hiatus in the early 90s.
Introduced in 1989, the 240SX had a bigger engine than its predecessor. The 240SX also retained the rear wheel drive, which made it a choice car for driving enthusiasts.
The 240SX, because of its sporty profile and rear wheel drive, is popular for racing, modifications, and tuning.
The 240SX only made it through two generations before being discontinued, with a redesign done in 1995. The last year for the 240SX was 1998, when production ended due to slow sales, a fate suffered by many other sporty coupes of the era.

The Nissan 240SX has garnered a loyal following for its sporty handling, customization potential, and fun driving experience across all its model years. Owners truly appreciate the rear-wheel drive layout, which enhances the vehicle's drifting capabilities and performance with the right modifications. However, many drivers often express frustration with the car's underpowered stock engine and the need for maintenance as it ages. While most appreciate the overall styling and build quality, reliability issues and rust concerns are commonly mentioned downsides.

This is my personal play car. I have done the Red Top SR20DET swap, full suspension, and various other mods. Drifting with this car is so much fun. This car is supper easy to work on. I will add more info later.
The 240 is a very well balanced car. It is ideal for drifting due to its lightweight and front engine design. Nissan's are historically reliable and easy to work on and modify. The KA24de engine is surprisingly torquey for a four cylinder. This is the car that I always wanted in high school and I bought this one from a guy who abandoned it under a tree. It had a hole in the engine block and was dented, rusted and molded on the interior. It is a never ending project that is supported by whole family.
Anything built on a Nissan S-chassis is nothing short of amazing. Handling is rigid enough for track use right out of the box, and aftermarket support is phenomenal. The stock KA24DE motor will take a beating and is very easy to work on. (We just dropped an RB20DET Skyline motor in, however...) Anyone that loves 90's Japanese tuner cars knows that there's a reason the SX has such a cult following.
Performance: considered quick 0-60, handling braking pretty awesome for small car Build: safe but could use better materials, consider that it's a compact car Appearance: cool, but with major improvements will be a supercar!! Cost of Ownership: quite good I guess.. everything is simple to fix and tweak.. it was built for it!! Fun factor: you can say that again!!!
1991 Nissan 240 Sx, one of the best cars I've have ever owned, KA24de stock with the exception of a cold air intake but still a blast to drive with the right amount of hp/tq. This car never gave me any problems what so ever. It was a sad day when i sold it, I still miss it to this date :(.
