What is the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 | $12,343 | −13.33% |
| 2024 | $18,209 | −10.63% |
| 2021 | $13,626 | −10.1% |
| 2022 | $15,838 | −9.73% |
| 2018 | $10,598 | −9.08% |
| 2019 | $11,087 | −8.36% |
| 2023 | $17,343 | −8.2% |

| 2016 | $9,634 | −1.37% |
| 2015 | $8,681 | +1.36% |
Most model years are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favor if you're shopping used, since it creates more room to find value in newer examples. A few older years are changing only slightly, which suggests steadier pricing at the lower end of the range.
The 2015, 2016, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Should I buy a used Mitsubishi Outlander Sport now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2024 model is at −10.63% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −8.2%.
- Deal availability: The 2024 model has 40.6% good and great deals, and the 2023 model has 40.4%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the newest version, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Customers say
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has garnered generally positive feedback from owners across all model years, particularly for its comfortable ride and impressive fuel economy, with many averaging around 25-26 mpg. Drivers appreciate the spacious interior and reliability, making it a practical choice for families. However, some have pointed out that it can feel a bit basic compared to newer offerings, with notable criticisms including cabin noise and the absence of certain features that are now standard in competing models. Overall, it stands out for its value and practicality, appealing to those seeking a compact SUV.

CarGurus recommends the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Summary
With 1,525 currently listed for sale and an average price of $18,221, 40.3% of 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
88.5% of 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport stands out as one of the longest-running models in the subcompact crossover class, and that long life has helped make it a familiar, straightforward choice. It remains one of the most affordable options in the segment, and its appeal is rooted in practicality rather than flash. Buyers get standard all-wheel drive, easy parking and driving manners, and a reputation for solid reliability in later examples, but they should also expect a rough ride, cheap interior materials, and a weak engine.
For 2024, the Outlander Sport’s distinctive value proposition is its mix of standard AWD and a long list of available trim-level features. The lineup includes a 7-inch touchscreen audio display on standard models, while higher trims can add an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, a roof spoiler, voice-recognition controls, LED fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, black roof rails, and push-button start. The 2024 model also adds the Trail Edition with black hood graphics, black side and fender moldings, a black hood protector and tailgate trim, black inner door handle protectors, mud flaps, and all-weather floor mats. That combination makes the Outlander Sport appealing to shoppers who want an affordable AWD crossover with useful equipment, even if it still feels dated compared with newer rivals.
