Customers say
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has garnered generally positive feedback from owners across all model years, particularly for its comfortable ride and impressive fuel economy, with many averaging around 25-26 mpg. Drivers appreciate the spacious interior and reliability, making it a practical choice for families. However, some have pointed out that it can feel a bit basic compared to newer offerings, with notable criticisms including cabin noise and the absence of certain features that are now standard in competing models. Why it stands out
The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport stands out as one of the longest-running choices in the subcompact crossover class, and its appeal is rooted in simplicity and value rather than flash. It has changed little over time, which helps explain why it remains one of the more affordable options in the segment. Buyers looking for an easy-to-live-with small SUV will also appreciate its standard all-wheel drive, its easy parking manners, and its reputation for solid reliability in later years.
For 2022, the Outlander Sport’s strengths are balanced by some familiar drawbacks. The model is still known for cheap interior materials, a rough ride, and a weak engine, so it is not the most polished or powerful option in its class. Even so, it offers useful modern equipment for shoppers who choose the right version, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on higher-spec models, along with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen audio display and automatic climate control. That combination of affordability, standard AWD, and improved tech makes the 2022 Outlander Sport appealing to buyers who want a practical crossover without paying much for it.
