- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 37% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 36.7%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2020 model has the most listings.
If you're buying used today, the 2020 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the newest version, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Vehicle had undercarriage damage that was rebuilt after it was totaled so there is no way to know what else will be a future problem. Not worth the price they are asking.

Sturdy and functional but too bare bones. As outfitted, it was more like a shuttle bus with too few creature comforts for a passenger van. The motor, transmission and drive train felt solid and tight.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter stands out because it was a ground-up redesign that kept the van’s familiar tall, boxy shape while moving the platform forward in a major way. It also marked the first time American-market Sprinters were fully assembled in Mercedes-Benz’s South Carolina plant. For buyers who need a van that can serve as a cargo hauler, passenger shuttle, or custom build base, its appeal starts with sheer versatility: Mercedes claimed up to 1,700 different combinations of body style, body length, cab design, payload rating, load-compartment height, and drivetrain layout.
What makes the 2019 model especially distinctive is how much equipment it brought at launch. It introduced Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, USB-C ports, 12V DC outlets, 115V AC outlets, and wireless charging. It also launched with two engines, including a carry-over 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 and a new turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder, and it remained the only full-size van on the market available with a four-wheel-drive system. Cargo versions offered up to 524 cubic feet of space, while passenger versions could seat 12 on the standard wheelbase or up to 15 in long-wheelbase form.
The 2019 Sprinter’s strengths are balanced by the realities of owning a premium commercial vehicle. The cabin was praised for its car-like refinement, well-shaped seats, and low road noise, but the model’s electronics add complexity, and owners have reported software glitches and sensor issues. The buying guide also notes that the diesel emissions system can be costly to maintain. Even so, for shoppers who value configurability, refinement, and capability in a full-size van, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is one of the most distinctive choices in the segment.
