Overall, the GLB delivers luxury, comfort, and functionality in one well-rounded package. An excellent choice for anyone looking for a premium compact SUV that doesn’t compromise.

Fit and finish is what you would expect from Mercedes. The front seat comfort is a true relief for my aching back. Everything inside is focused on convenience for the driver. The track pad, mouses, and other interactive features make sure that everything is literally at your fingertips. The interior lighting is soothing as well as functional, especially when you have middle aged eyes that don’t see quite as well in the dark as they used to. The panoramic sunroof makes it feel like you can see the whole sky giving the car a very open feel in the front. Plus, the ceiling height is generous enough to easily fit my very tall sons. There really isn’t anything about this vehicle that I dislike except the standard floor mats. I’ll be ordering all weather mats. I do feel like there are some features that should be standard rather than optional for a luxury vehicle, but fortunately this one already had everything I needed. Also, the Denim Blue is a rich and velvety color. I had my mind set on black or dark grey initially, but I am glad that the blue was where I landed. It’s gorgeous!

I purchased a Certifed Pre-Owned GLB250 with approx. 30,000 miles on it, after previously owning a GLA250 model. This GLB250 currently has about 90,000 miles on it. I have owned over 100 vehicles, over my lifetime, and this vehicle is probably one of the best that I have ever driven,. At 6’3” tall, I have often found myself cramped in other vehicles, but not in this Mercedes! I do a great deal of traveling, so good overall fuel economy is a must for me. This GLB250 seats 7 people,(two small individuals in rear-most seats), and I’m averaging 30+ MPG on the highway. I think that the optional AMG sport appearance package is awesome, and truly sets this SUV apart from all of the others. I find that, even in the “comfort” mode, it is a blast to drive around! Mercedes really did do this model right!

Why it stands out
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB stands out as a compact luxury SUV that prioritizes space and versatility over the low-slung, sporty formula common in the segment. Its boxier shape and upright stance help create a roomier cabin, and Mercedes-Benz made room for an optional third row of seats. That packaging gives the GLB a practical edge, especially for buyers who want a small premium crossover that can do more than just carry four people in comfort.
For 2023, the GLB still offered the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The cabin was also a strong point, with high-quality materials and Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX infotainment system. Standard equipment included dual 7-inch digital screens, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, keyless start, dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, power front seats, and a range of driver-assistance features such as automatic emergency braking and a driver-attention monitor. Buyers could also add larger 10.25-inch screens and more advanced safety tech through option packages.
The GLB’s biggest appeal is its combination of usable interior space, upscale presentation, and multiple seating and equipment choices. Its third row is best suited to children or occasional use, and the transmission was described as irritating, so it is not perfect. Even so, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB remains distinctive because it delivers a rare mix of compact dimensions, premium features, and genuine practicality in a segment where many rivals lean more heavily toward style than utility.
