Mercedes-Benz 190-Class Overview
The 190-Class was the smallest and least expensive Mercedes-Benz sedan available during the years 1990 to 1993. Nicknamed the "Baby Benz," it was built in an effort to extend the mass appeal of the Mercedes brand and was available in a number of different configurations, with both gas and diesel engines.
The two standard versions were offered with either a 2.6-liter 6-cylinder or a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine. The list of standard equipment included antilock brakes, a driver's-side airbag, air conditioning, and power windows and door locks.
Trim packages included a Sportline edition, available in 1992, as well as Limited Edition packages, which were available in 1993. Features of these editions included special alloy wheels, a sunroof, leather seats, and special badging.

The Mercedes-Benz 190-Class has garnered positive feedback for its overall performance, reliability, and comfort throughout its production years. Owners consistently praise its handling, smooth ride, and solid construction, often describing it as a 'classic' and a pleasure to drive. However, some drivers have expressed concerns over issues like limited acceleration, interior comfort, and the need for regular maintenance, especially in older models. This vehicle stands out for its blend of classic design with engineering quality that has stood the test of time, making it a popular choice for collectors and daily drivers alike.

What people say
for the year the performance was great, the build quality was amazing it were as it was straight out of the factory. The appearance was nice but it was missing some jazz to the body style I don't feel it was Mercedes-Benz's best years, but the 90s weren't great for many cars so overall I give it a 4.
What can be better than this hand-made Mercedes-Benz built in the old days, while the German engineers assembled every one of this masterpiece and tested it to perfection before each "release." This is the PRIME of the 4th generation of the 190E (model years are 1984, 85-86, 87-88, 91-93). Absolutely refined engineering.
Great second car. Great handling. Fun to drive. Nice car to look at, chrome! For a car of this age, it is ageless. Reliable. Compact but not too compact. Acceleration is perfect. Braking is perfect. Safety first and confident. Haven't noticed blind spots. Gas mileage about 26 per gallon. Repair costs fair.
Awesome saloon. The power is great when going down the freeway.Very responsive chassis and super plush. Its not a racecar but comfortable and fun to drive. Deals on these can be found all the time if you have a chance buy one
This car is a little tank! Commonly known as being over-built by Mercedes. Very reliable. Average performance. Good ride for such a small car. Average of 20mpg in city. The paint is in great condition...very surprised for a 17 year old car. Everything in working order Great car!
