Used Mazda MPV for Sale near Gainesville, GA
Mazda MPV Overview
The Mazda MPV was one of the earliest Japanese vans to reach the U.S. market, and among the first to be designed specifically for North American buyers. Built from the ground up and based on Mazda 929 sedan's platform, the MPV was a rear-wheel drive vehicle from its introduction in 1989 until 2000, when it became a front-wheel-drive. It also was available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive until its redesign in 2000. One element that distinguished the MPV from its competition was its hinged rear door, on the passenger side, rather than a sliding door. In 1996 Mazda added a fourth hinged door behind the driver's-side door. The hinged rear doors remained until the MPV's redesign in 2000, when they were replaced with sliding doors. In late-model vehicles, power sliding doors were available as either standard features or options, depending on the trim package. Through most of its history, the MPV was considered to be underpowered by many. The earlier models were powered by either a 121-horsepower, 2.6-liter four-cylinder engine or a 150-horsepower, 3.0-liter V6. Power was steadily increased through the years, but it wasn't until a 200-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 engine was dropped under the hood in 2002 that the MPV was considered adequately powered. Throughout the 1990s and into the 21st century, the MPV was updated but its size and shape remained essentially unchanged. This allowed some competitors' vans to exceed the MPV in size, power, and features. But there were many drivers who appreciated the MPV for what it was -- a small yet versatile minivan. Drivers noted that, for the most part, the MPV was a reliable vehicle that handled well and had plenty of room for people and cargo. It was also considered to be a good value. As Mazda continued to make upgrades to the minivan, it gained a sportier look and more nimble handling, but it has remained a true minivan up to the current model year.

The Mazda MPV is well-regarded among owners for its reliability, spacious cargo area, and comfortable interior. Many appreciate its agile handling and overall performance as a family van. However, some drivers have expressed concerns about the rear AC system's effectiveness and desire for more engine power. Despite being a bit underpowered for some, it remains a favored choice for families looking for practicality without sacrificing driving enjoyment.

What people say
This car has survived eighteen years of driving through the most extreme conditions. It has made the drive from Wisconsin to Florida countless times and has toted us and all of our crap to the mountains and the lake. Not many cars could go through all that and still run perfectly fine.
Got this car as a gift from some great friends of mine and after a year and a round trip to Mexico and not a single problem with it all I can say is that I'd buy an MPV any day. Just love it.
It is a great vehicle for a family who wants lots of space without sacrificing handling and performance. It has served us reliably for 3 years so far with only minor repairs needed over that time. I would recommend this vehicle to others and wish they didn't stop the product line.
Handles like a sports car, looks aggressive. Lots of pickup, fun to do peel outs in! No squeaks, rattles etc. Looks really good, very aggressive, average mileage: 18 MPG city 25 hwy. This thing EXTREMELY fun to drive! Blue in colour.
My mom had one of these until some IDIOT ran into the side. It was counting 320 000 kms on the odometer. It was a very nice van mechanically speaking, it was a tough van, my mom's was green so we called it "The Tank". This was the car when I was starting to learn to drive, and it was very reliable. My dad and I could fix almost anything on this, but we never had to because it had no problems, only brakes making noise, which was fixed in about half an hour.
