In 2004, hatchback and wagon versions were added to the Mazda 6 lineup. In 2005, a Grand Touring trim package made its appearance, while in 2006 a Grand Sport trim package was introduced.
By the 2007 model year, the Mazda 6 was available in four different basic styles, including the original Mazda 6 four-door Sports Sedan, as well as a 5-Door Hatchback, a Sport Wagon, and the high-performance MazdaSpeed6. The high-end MazdaSpeed6 came with a turbocharged 2.3-liter double-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine, which produced 270 horsepower.

Needed a commuting car for my wife and did some research and test drives on mid-size sedans. Test drove a 2022 Toyota Camry as well as a 2022 Honda Accord. After my brother-in-law recommended Mazda I did my research and finally test drove a 2020 Mazda 6 Grand Touring. BOOM!!! This car is amazing: literally blew away the Camry and Acord in every aspect (acceleration, quietness, interior and exterior and sooooo fun to drive). I feel like we got a luxury vehicle for the price of a Camry or Acord. I know time will tell regarding reliability but if first impressions meaning anything this car is the sweetest vehicle I have ever driven!!!
The car is quick, sleek, comfortable, and is really nice. Highly recommend!
I bought my Mazda6 used with around 55k miles on it back in 2017 and it’s still going strong in 2024. I’ve place over 110k miles on it and never had any issues with it. Just keep up with the maintenance and this car will go the distance. I do have the sport version and that’s honestly the only “downside” of the vehicle. Simple system. Nothing fancy. If you’re looking for a first time car, this would be it and you could learn the maintenance fairly quickly. I paid 13k for it and it’s probably one the greatest financial decision I’ve made.
I don’t have a single complaint about this car. It is spacious, efficient, nice-looking, has plenty of room in the trunk, and has the features I wanted. I fully recommend the 2009 Mazda 6 (or any other 2nd generation model)
This vehicle is awesome! This vehicle is low on maintenance while giving the best of fuel economy. While this vehicle is 10 years old it still has features that the luxury brands doesnt have. If your decide to purchase this vehicle, get it in (Soul Red) heads will turn!!
