Used Lincoln Aviator for Sale near Anderson, SC
Lincoln Aviator Overview
There's no Flubber involved, no Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang nickname included. That's because, of course, the Lincoln Aviator can't really fly. In reality, it's a midsize luxury SUV that borrows its body-on-frame platform from the Ford Explorer and its luxury trappings and exterior styling from the Lincoln Navigator. From outward appearances, the Aviator is just a shrunken Navigator, making it more appealing to childless drivers who want the cargo space, three rows of seating, towing power, and AWD capability available in larger SUVs. Introduced in 2003 as a more manageable alternative to the beefier Navigator, the Lincoln Aviator was available in Luxury and Premium trims, with either rear-wheel or automatic all-wheel drive. It had a stronger standard engine than the Explorer - a 4.6-liter V8 and a 5-speed automatic tuned for 302-hp and 300 ft-lbs of torque. Creature comforts abounded, with heated leather seats, power everything (including pedals), and a host of standard and optional safety features. The Premium trim added the popular heated and cooled seats, and other options available included a sunroof, navigation system, and DVD player.
Over its three-year lifespan, the Premium trim became the Ultimate and then was dropped and offered only as an option package. Traction control with rollover protection became standard in 2005. Though not equipped for off-roading, as it lacked low-range gearing, the all-wheel drive system provided extra security in rough climates or tricky driving situations. The Aviator could be configured to seat either six or seven, though a common complaint was that the third row offered little legroom.
The Aviator was meant to appeal to drivers looking for a luxury SUV who didn't need the space or size of the sometimes unwieldy Navigator. Good towing power and easy driveability rated high with owners. Sales never amounted to much, however, perhaps because its equipment list didn't differ much from those of the less expensive Explorer and Mountaineer and its overall appearance wasn't distinct enough from its bigger brother. Low fuel economy and a hefty pricetag did not help its cause. Gone after 2005, rumors of a revised car-based crossover Aviator for 2007 were quashed with the release of the Lincoln MKX. This new crossover carries only a V6, however, and plans for a more Aviator-like crossover are still in the works.

The Lincoln Aviator has received positive feedback from owners across various model years, especially for its luxurious feel, impressive comfort, and spacious interiors that cater well to families. Many appreciate the advanced technology features, as well as the powerful performance it provides. However, some criticisms arise regarding the pricing, with many finding it on the higher side compared to competitors, and issues like road noise and automatic transmission behavior have also been mentioned. Overall, the Aviator remains a favored choice for drivers seeking luxury and performance in an SUV.

3 areas I evaluated was looks , features and performance. The cars styling is very nice. I like the big grill in the front. The body lines pulls your eyes to the car with nicely done chrome accents. The interior is loaded down with amenities that you expect in a vehicle of this quality. This Aviator is a Reserve with comfort package 3, Technology package and effects package. I choose the Aviator because it also has the air ride suspension where the Nautilus and Corsair did not. The seats are comfortable as I have drove it already 1,200 miles to get it home from the dealership I bought it from. The dynamic cruise control is very impressive and used it almost non stop. The technology in this vehicle is first class and works well with voice commands. Performance is not lacking in this vehicle. There are several drive modes so you can figure out what suits you. The ecite mode produces the most horsepower but eco and normal don’t disappoint. It handles great and the air ride makes this car pleasant. I would recommend this vehicle to family.
I’ve been driving my Aviator for 17 yrs, & besides regular maintenance & a manufacturers defect below the rear hatch window, it’s a great vehicle. The ride is superb.
I been a Ford fan (escape & explorer) but had to get a rental for an bit and drove an Aviator now I am hooked. The luxury options , space and handling of the Aviator left no comparison.
Great features. This is the highest level trim. Doing some research the reliability for 2020 Aviators is low. It appears that was the first year the car was sold. Decided to pursue a 2021 model.
Aviators are great, just not this specific one. Clearly repainted on several if not most body panels and has had a new engine installed already. Could have still been interested if price would be reflective of that. The massive rattle under it at idle is crazy as well. The cR fax only shows a front bumper replacement so it is clearly wrong. It also had a scratch the entire length of passenger side that was not noticed in walk around.....still no change in price. Sorry just being.honest on the particular unit I looked at. Black, black label with every option.
