After driving Audi Q5, the feel of Lexus Nx is a “tight” car with small seats. Test drove its base model and that did not even have a compass. Anticipated reliability is what compelling buyers towards Lexus. Otherwise the German and American competitors would reign supreme. Many used NXh are priced at a premium. Acura RDX is seen as a notch below and does not even have hybrid models.

About the Lexus NX Hybrid
The Lexus NX compact crossover SUV is based on the Toyota RAV4, and like the RAV4 it offers a hybrid powertrain. That’s been the case from the NX’s launch for the 2015 model year. The current-generation NX, which launched as a 2022 model, offers both hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. These options help the NX stand out against rivals like the Acura RDX, Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class—many of which don’t offer a hybrid option.

It’s hard not to think of the NX Hybrid as a more expensive RAV4 Hybrid. The two vehicles share a basic platform, and their EPA fuel-economy ratings are nearly identical. The Lexus is more luxurious on the inside, but the Toyota is better suited to rough-and-tumble SUV driving.
Is the Lexus NX Hybrid a reliable car?
J.D. Power doesn’t break out the NX Hybrid in its customer satisfaction rankings, but the NX overall was ranked just behind the BMW X4 and Porsche Macan for 2023. Neither German model is particularly concerned with fuel economy, though, and both are likely to have a higher out-the-door price than the Lexus.
Is the Lexus NX Hybrid worth the cost?
The Lexus NX Hybrid is a more efficient take on luxury than its rivals, but the related Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is functionally the same. The Lexus does offer nicer interior materials (on higher trim levels at least) and a somewhat more upscale driving experience, but those differences don’t justify the NX Hybrid’s higher price.
