Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Lexus Interface infotainment system
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says the GX 550 will get 17 mpg in combined city and highway driving. On our Southern California fuel economy test route, we came close to that, at 16.8 mpg. On the mountainous evaluation loop, we observed 16 mpg.

Which Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Lexus GX offers these trims:

• Premium: The entry point in the lineup, with the GX’s core luxury-SUV setup and standard twin-turbo V6 power.
• Premium+: Adds extra equipment over Premium for shoppers who want a richer feature set without moving to the more specialized trims.
• Luxury: A comfort-focused step up for buyers who want a more upscale everyday GX.
• Luxury+: The most feature-rich luxury-oriented trim in the lineup.
• Overtrail: The best-value trim for buyers who want the GX’s off-road hardware, including rock rails, all-terrain tires, a locking rear differential, Multi-Terrain Select, hill-descent control, and a low-speed cruise control system.
• Overtrail+: Builds on Overtrail with additional equipment for buyers who want the most trail-ready GX with extra luxury content.

What Lexus GX do most buyers choose?

The Lexus GX years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2022.

Those higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, color, and price. They also sit in the sweet spot where newer features and broader availability overlap.

What is the Lexus GX's resale value?

Most model years are moving lower year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want more room to negotiate. The biggest drops are concentrated in the newer models, while older years are changing more gradually. That pattern suggests the GX continues to soften in price across much of the lineup.

The 2015, 2021, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
