Used Jeep Grand Cherokee for Sale nearThief River Falls, MN

How much does the Jeep Grand Cherokee cost in today's market?

Used Jeep Grand Cherokee prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee's current nationwide average price is $22,347, and its lowest point over the past year was $21,508. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the Jeep Grand Cherokee earns strong owner approval across its long run, and the all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable ride, spacious cabin, and upscale feel, along with its strong performance and off-road capability. Reviewers also repeatedly point to its stylish design and broad versatility as major reasons it stands out.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2017 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs in recent expert-tested years center on fuel economy and value, with some trims also concentrating the best equipment higher in the lineup. Even so, it remains a compelling used SUV if you want a vehicle with character, comfort, and real capability.

30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Jeep Grand Cherokee models reliable?

Owners consistently praise the Jeep Grand Cherokee for its comfort, performance, and upscale interior feel, while expert coverage highlights its broad capability and strong overall character. Across the model years in the data, it also earns solid owner scores, which supports its reputation as a well-liked used SUV.

• Owners rate the Jeep Grand Cherokee between 4.4 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is most worth watching on older examples, where repair history and prior use can matter more than the model’s core appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 75.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: The 2026 Grand Cherokee includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Uconnect 5 infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: Jeep expects the new Hurricane four-cylinder engine to return up to 27 mpg combined. That’s a meaningful improvement over the V6 engine’s 22 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway).

Which Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers these trims:

• Laredo: The entry trim uses the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, a 10.2-inch touchscreen, cloth upholstery, and Jeep’s Quadra-Trac I 4WD system; it suits buyers who want the most accessible way into the lineup.
• Laredo X: This trim keeps the V6 and adds the same core cabin and tech setup as Laredo, while serving as another value-oriented starting point.
• Laredo Altitude: This trim adds black 18-inch wheels, a standard Black Appearance Package, the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, the Selec-Terrain system, and access to Active Drive Assist; it’s the best-value trim for buyers who want a stronger mix of style, tech, and capability.
• Limited: This trim adds 18-inch wheels, leatherette upholstery, the larger touchscreen, and available 20-inch wheels at no extra charge, making it a strong step up for comfort-focused shoppers.
• Limited Altitude: This trim adds bigger wheels and a blackout treatment, building on the Limited’s equipment with a more distinctive look.
• Limited Reserve: This trim adds genuine leather upholstery and a more upscale cabin feel, making it a good fit if you want a more premium interior.
• Summit: This trim adds 21-inch wheels, a black roof, genuine leather upholstery, a 19-speaker McIntosh system, a front-passenger touchscreen, a digital rearview mirror, Fam Cam, height-adjustable air suspension, and Quadra-Drive II 4WD with a two-speed transfer case; it suits buyers who want the most equipment and the most polished presentation.

What Jeep Grand Cherokee do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee years with the most listings are 2024, 2022, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they combine broad availability with strong deal shares, giving you more chances to find the right trim and price. They also sit close enough to the current generation to deliver the Grand Cherokee’s familiar mix of comfort, capability, and premium appeal.

What is the Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because prices are moving lower across much of the lineup. The steepest drops are concentrated in newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples are falling more slowly. That creates a wide spread of opportunities depending on how much you want to spend.

The 2014, 2023, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

• 2026: 6/10
• 2022: 9/10
• 2021: 4/10

The 2026 Grand Cherokee includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. For the safest used buy, the 2015 and 2022 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Jeep Grand Cherokee now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −13.0% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.43%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 33.3% good and great deals.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $31,699. The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a distinctive blend of comfort, style, and real capability that has made it a long-running favorite.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The Hurricane 4 Turbo engine joins the lineup with 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, while the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 produces 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
• Tech: A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen is now available on Laredo Altitude and higher trim levels, and all trim levels have a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Safety: Active Drive Assist is available starting on the Laredo Altitude trim, and Jeep says it improved the behavior of this system for 2026.
• Starting price: The Laredo trim starts at $40,410 with the mandatory $1,995 destination charge.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
