Used Jeep Grand Cherokee for Sale nearKermit, TX

How much does the Jeep Grand Cherokee cost in today's market?

Used Jeep Grand Cherokee prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee's current nationwide average price is $22,488, and its nationwide average price reached a low of $21,492 over the past year. These figures reflect this model only, not the broader used-car market.

Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a strong choice if you want a used SUV with broad appeal and a loyal owner base.

The all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable ride, spacious cabin, and upscale feel. They also frequently highlight its strong performance and off-road capability, along with the sense that it can serve as both a daily driver and an adventure-ready SUV.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2017 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs in recent expert reviews center on fuel economy, value, and the way some desirable equipment is concentrated in higher trims.

33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Jeep Grand Cherokee models reliable?

Owners consistently describe the Jeep Grand Cherokee as comfortable, capable, and rewarding to live with, especially when you value its spacious cabin and strong performance. Expert reviews also reinforce its appeal as a versatile SUV with broad capability and a premium feel.

• Owners rate the Jeep Grand Cherokee between 4.39 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is most worth watching on older examples, where owner feedback points to more quality and repair concerns than on newer model years.

What should I look for when buying a used Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: Jeep expects the new Hurricane four-cylinder engine to return up to 27 mpg combined, while the V6 engine returns 22 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway).

Which Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers these trims:

• Laredo: The entry trim uses the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, 10.2-inch touchscreen, cloth upholstery, and Jeep’s Quadra-Trac I 4WD system.
• Laredo X: This version keeps the V6 and adds the same core equipment as the Laredo with a more upscale presentation.
• Laredo Altitude: This trim adds the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, the Selec-Terrain system, black 18-inch wheels, and a standard Black Appearance Package.
• Limited: This trim brings 18-inch wheels, leatherette upholstery, and available 20-inch wheels at no extra charge.
• Limited Altitude: This version adds bigger wheels and a blackout treatment similar to the Laredo Altitude.
• Limited Reserve: This trim adds genuine leather upholstery and sits among the best values near the top of the lineup.
• Summit: The top trim adds 21-inch wheels, a black roof, genuine leather upholstery, a more sophisticated Quadra-Drive II 4WD system with a two-speed transfer case, and the 19-speaker McIntosh audio system.

What Jeep Grand Cherokee do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee years with the most listings are 2024, 2022, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to draw the most shoppers because they combine broad availability with strong deal percentages. That gives you more choices at the price points many used buyers are targeting.

What is the Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you're shopping used. The steepest drops are in the newer and mid-cycle years, while the older examples show smaller declines. That pattern gives you more room to find value across much of the lineup.

The 2014, 2023, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

• 2026: 6/10
• 2022: 9/10
• 2021: 4/10
• 2020: 3/10

The expected array of driver-assistance features is standard, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Jeep also makes blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors standard—all very helpful features for a vehicle of this size.

For the safest used buy, the 2015 and 2022 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Jeep Grand Cherokee now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −12.5% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.28%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 37.2% good and great deals.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $31,952. The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a roomy cabin and a strong blend of comfort, style, and capability that has made it a long-running favorite.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The Hurricane 4 Turbo engine delivers 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, while Jeep expects up to 27 mpg combined.
• Tech: A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen is now available on Laredo Altitude and higher trim levels, and Jeep continues to rely on Uconnect 5 with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
• Safety: Jeep says it improved the behavior of Active Drive Assist to more seamlessly transition to lower levels of automation when needed.
• Starting price: The Laredo trim starts at $40,410 with the mandatory $1,995 destination charge.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
