Used Jeep Grand Cherokee for Sale nearFloydada, TX

How much does the Jeep Grand Cherokee cost in today's market?

Used Jeep Grand Cherokee prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee's current nationwide average price is $22,387, and its lowest point over the past year was $21,486. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a strong used SUV choice if you want capability, comfort, and a premium feel in one package. The all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, comfortable ride, and upscale cabin feel. They also frequently highlight its strong performance and off-road capability, along with the broad trim and equipment range that lets you shop for a version that fits your needs.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2017 models among the highest across all years.

The main tradeoffs that show up in recent expert reviews are fuel economy, value, and the way some desirable equipment is concentrated in higher trims. For used shoppers, that means the Grand Cherokee makes the most sense when you prioritize its character and capability over maximum efficiency or the lowest purchase price.

33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Jeep Grand Cherokee models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Grand Cherokee’s comfort, strong performance, and upscale feel as core strengths. Across the model years in the data, buyers also repeatedly value its spacious cabin and versatile character.

• Owners rate the Jeep Grand Cherokee between 4.39 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For long-term ownership, the safest approach is to focus on well-documented examples with a clean history and a strong maintenance record, especially on older model years.

What should I look for when buying a used Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: the expected array of driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors
• Infotainment: Uconnect 5 infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
• Fuel efficiency: Jeep expects the new Hurricane four-cylinder engine to return up to 27 mpg combined, and the V6 engine’s 22 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway)

Which Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers these trims:

• Laredo: the entry point with cloth upholstery, a 10.2-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, Jeep’s Quadra-Trac I 4WD system, and the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6; best if you want the most affordable way into the lineup.
• Laredo X: keeps the same core setup as Laredo with the V6, 10.2-inch touchscreen, and 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Laredo Altitude: adds black 18-inch wheels, a standard Black Appearance Package, leatherette upholstery, the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, Selec-Terrain with multiple drive modes, and access to Active Drive Assist.
• Limited: adds leatherette upholstery, 18-inch wheels, the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, and available 20-inch wheels, making it a strong value if you want a more upscale cabin.
• Limited Altitude: adds bigger wheels, a blackout treatment, leatherette upholstery, and the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen.
• Limited Reserve: adds genuine leather upholstery, the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, and a more premium equipment mix that sits near the top of the lineup.
• Summit: adds 21-inch wheels, a black roof, genuine leather upholstery, the 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, the 10.2-inch front-passenger touchscreen, height-adjustable air suspension, and the more sophisticated Quadra-Drive II 4WD system with a two-speed transfer case.

What Jeep Grand Cherokee do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee years with the most listings are 2024, 2022, and 2023.

Those model years tend to be popular because they offer a strong mix of newer features, broad availability, and pricing that still sits below the newest examples. Higher listing volume also gives you more room to compare trims, mileage, and condition before you buy.

What is the Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern is helpful if you're shopping used, because it means you can often step into a newer Grand Cherokee at a lower price than before. The smaller declines on some older years suggest those examples have been a bit steadier than the rest of the lineup.

The 2014, 2023, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

• 2026: 6/10
• 2022: 9/10
• 2021: 4/10
• 2020: 3/10
• 2019: 4/10
• 2017: 7/10
• 2016: 7/10
• 2015: 9/10
• 2014: 8/10

The 2026 Grand Cherokee includes a standard suite of driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

For the safest used buy, the 2015 and 2022 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Jeep Grand Cherokee now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −12.93% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.44%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 37.5% good and great deals.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $31,733. The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a distinctive blend of rugged capability, comfort, and a premium feel that has made it a long-running favorite.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The Hurricane 4 Turbo engine joins the lineup with 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, while the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 produces 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
• Tech: Uconnect 5 infotainment now pairs with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen on Laredo Altitude and higher trim levels, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
• Safety: Active Drive Assist is available starting on the Laredo Altitude trim, and Jeep says it improved the behavior of this system for 2026.
• Starting price: The Laredo trim starts at $40,410 with the mandatory $1,995 destination charge.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
