What should I look for when buying a used Jaguar XE?

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2019 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: The standard package includes a reversing camera, a distracted-driver monitor, low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Jaguar offers the latest version of its InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system in the 2020 XE, and it works better than previous iterations of the technology.
• Fuel efficiency: This Jag isn’t terribly fuel-efficient, either. The EPA says it should get 25 mpg in combined driving, but the car returned 20.3 mpg on my testing loop.

Which Jaguar XE trim should I buy?

The 2020 Jaguar XE offers these trims:

• XE P250 S: This is the value pick, with rear-wheel drive standard and a starting point for the lineup.
• XE P300 R-Dynamic S: This is the stronger choice if you want more power, AWD, and the more performance-focused setup; it also suits buyers who want the most engaging version in the 2020 range.

What Jaguar XE do most buyers choose?

The Jaguar XE years with the most listings are 2018, 2017, and 2019.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choices, which can make it easier to compare prices, equipment, and condition. They also tend to be the years shoppers return to most often because there are simply more examples to choose from.

What is the Jaguar XE's resale value?

Prices are moving lower across the years shown, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The larger drop on one year shows a sharper shift in value, while the other year has moved down by a smaller amount. That pattern gives you room to find a more affordable entry point without giving up the XE's core appeal.

The 2017 and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Jaguar XE safe?

• 2020: 6/10

The 2020 XE includes a standard package with a reversing camera, a distracted-driver monitor, low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and front and rear parking sensors.

For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.
