What should I look for when buying a used Jaguar XE?

Across all model years, at 73.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2019 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: The standard package includes a reversing camera, a distracted-driver monitor, low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Jaguar offers the latest version of its InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, and the XE also gets Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: This Jag isn’t terribly fuel-efficient, either. The EPA says it should get 25 mpg in combined driving, but the car returned 20.3 mpg on my testing loop.

Which Jaguar XE trim should I buy?

The 2020 Jaguar XE offers these trims:

• XE P250 S: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers, with rear-wheel drive standard and a strong balance of style and equipment.
• XE P300 R-Dynamic S: This trim adds more power, AWD, and a more performance-focused setup for drivers who want the quickest version.

What Jaguar XE do most buyers choose?

The Jaguar XE years with the most listings are 2018, 2017, and 2019.

Higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they usually offer more choices at familiar price points. In the XE's case, the most listed years also give you a stronger chance of finding a deal that fits your budget.

What is the Jaguar XE's resale value?

The table shows that both model years have moved lower over the past year, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The larger drop on one year points to a sharper shift in pricing, while the other year has moved down more modestly. That makes the current market especially appealing if you're looking for a recent XE at a lower entry price.

The 2017 and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Jaguar XE safe?

• 2020: 6/10
• 2017: 8/10

The standard package includes a reversing camera, a distracted-driver monitor, low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and front and rear parking sensors.

For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Buy now if:
