After spending time with the 2024 QX80 Sensory, I’m comfortable giving it a five‑star rating—not because it’s perfect, but because of how well it delivers on the things that actually matter in this segment, especially at the cheaper real‑world transaction prices these typically sell for. The build quality stands out immediately. Material quality, fit, and finish are all genuinely impressive, and even after 30,000 miles the cabin remains tight with very few creaks or rattles. That’s something I can’t say about several other luxury brands I’ve owned, including BMW, Mercedes, and Cadillac, which tend to develop interior noises far earlier. On the road, the QX80 excels at what it’s built for. The ride is extremely comfortable, highway noise is well controlled, and the 400‑hp V8 provides smooth, effortless power. It’s a relaxed, confident cruiser that makes long family trips easy. The interior is spacious, the leather is high‑quality, and both the interior and exterior design have a clean, upscale look. Fuel economy is average for a large V8 SUV—nothing surprising there. The real drawbacks come from the dated technology. The infotainment system feels behind the times, and features like a head‑up display or massaging seats simply aren’t available. The front seats could also use more side bolstering for better support. Even with those shortcomings, the overall package is strong. When you factor in the typical selling price—often well below MSRP—the value becomes even clearer. You’re getting a large, comfortable, powerful, and well‑built luxury SUV that prioritizes reliability and long‑term durability over chasing trends. It’s not perfect, but nothing in this class is. What the QX80 does, it does exceptionally well, and that’s why it earns a full five stars from me.

I thought that the Car was wonderful. I admire the features of the car because they are Manly and Elegance all in one package. The Car demands respect as well as esteem, who ever owns it must posess both within its characters.

Love the car and its features, it’s missing nothing. Better in person for sure! I would compare to any SUV on the road and it will hold its own.

About the Infiniti QX80
The QX80 is easily one of Infiniti's best models, and it shares the vast majority of its underpinnings with the Nissan Armada. The full-size body-on-frame SUV has three rows of seating, a standard V8 engine, and impressive capability.
What are the advantages of the Infiniti QX80?
- 8,500 pounds of towing
- Standard V8 engine
- Plush interior
What is the best Honda Civic Hatchback model year?
The second-generation QX80 is aging badly, having been on sale for more than a decade without a significant overhaul. That makes it important to opt for the latest model possible to get the best technology, safety equipment, and interior features. The SUV got its last facelift for the 2018 model year, so anything newer than that is a good choice.
What are the disadvantages of the Infiniti QX80?
- Third row lacks space
- Terrible fuel economy
- Interior feels old
Comparison: Is the Infiniti QX80 better than the Nissan Armada?
Besides being identical underneath, the Infiniti QX80 costs a lot more than an equivalent Nissan Armada. The interior is slightly nicer and the Infiniti's styling is more upscale, but the two are almost interchangeable.
Is the Infiniti QX80 a reliable car?
J.D. Power hasn't graded the 2023 QX80 yet, but the 2022 model earned a respectable score of 81/100. That rating reflects the fact that the QX80 and Armada have been on sale long enough without a major change that Nissan has had time to iron out all of the issues.
Is the Infiniti QX80 worth the cost?
Given its age and similarities to the Nissan Armada, the QX80 has a hard time justifying a high price tag. There are many SUVs in the QX80's segmment that don't have the same baggage, so it's difficult to recommend the Infiniti unless it's being offered for sale at a great deal.
