The Honda Pilot's current nationwide average price is $27,096, and its nationwide average price reached a low of $24,423 over the past year. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda Pilot?

Across all model years, at 74.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing suite
• Infotainment: larger standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel for all trim levels
• Fuel efficiency: The 2026 Pilot is estimated to return up to 22 mpg combined (19/27 mpg city/highway) with the FWD layout. With AWD, the EPA estimates a slight drop to 21 mpg combined (19/25 mpg city/highway), while the off-road-capable TrailSport drops by about another 1 mpg across the board.

Which Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Pilot offers these trims:

• Sport: The entry-level trim starts the lineup with front-wheel drive standard, while all-wheel drive is available. It also gets the Honda Sensing safety suite, the larger standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and the 10.2-inch digital instrument panel.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds all-wheel drive standard, a removable second-row seat, leather seats, and the wireless phone charger.
• TrailSport: This trim adds the off-road-focused hardware and capability in the lineup, and it stands apart for its decent off-road abilities.
• Touring: This trim adds a panoramic sunroof, premium audio, and a hands-free power liftgate.
• Black Edition: This top trim brings blacked-out exterior trim and red interior accents.

What Honda Pilot do most buyers choose?

The Honda Pilot years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a strong mix of newer features, broad availability, and enough listings to compare prices and equipment. They also sit close enough to the latest generation to feel current while still offering used-car value.

What is the Honda Pilot's resale value?

Most Honda Pilot model years are down year over year, which is good news if you're shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The declines are fairly broad across the lineup, with several recent years showing meaningful drops. A few older years have changed less, which suggests they have held value relatively better than the rest of the group.

The 2014, 2024, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
