What should I look for when buying a used Genesis GV80?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Genesis Highway Drive Assist, lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, remote smart parking, a 360-degree camera system, and a blind view monitor.
• Infotainment: a clear, crisp 27-inch OLED screen housing both a digital gauge cluster and infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA gives the 2025 Genesis GV80 with the four-cylinder engine a rating of 19 miles per gallon city, 24 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined. The six-cylinder engine only nets 16/22/19.

Which Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 offers these trims:

• Standard: The entry trim brings the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, and the GV80's core luxury and safety setup, making it the starting point if you want the model's style and equipment at the lowest price.
• AWD: This trim adds the features Genesis deleted from the lower setup, including a heated steering wheel, digital key, and spare tire, making it a smart value step if you want a more complete everyday package.
• Select: This trim continues with the four-cylinder powertrain and adds another step up in equipment for shoppers who want more comfort and convenience without moving to the larger engine.
• Advance: This is the best-value trim if you want the twin-turbo 3.5-liter engine, since it unlocks the larger powerplant along with more premium equipment.
• Prestige: The top trim adds the most upscale presentation and the richest feature set, including the larger engine and the most luxurious cabin treatment.

What Genesis GV80 do most buyers choose?

The Genesis GV80 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choices in price, mileage, and equipment, which makes them the most common starting points for used shoppers. They also tend to be easier to compare side by side because there are more listings in the market.

What is the Genesis GV80's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the GV80 lineup, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The biggest drops are in the double digits, so recent model years have become meaningfully more affordable. A few years have fallen less sharply than others, which gives you some room to shop based on equipment and condition rather than price alone.

The 2024, 2021, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Genesis GV80 safe?

• 2025: 9/10
• 2024: 8/10
• 2023: 9/10
• 2021: 7/10

Genesis Highway Drive Assist is standard and it’s been updated with an attention monitor.

For the safest used buy, the 2023 and 2025 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Genesis GV80 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −16.27% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.6%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 39.1% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 38.4%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $49,105. The Genesis GV80 offers a distinctive, upscale cabin and a polished luxury feel that help it stand out in the segment.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Genesis kept the powertrain options the same for 2025. A 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard fare on the GV80. This power plant puts out 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
• Tech: All trims of the GV80 get a clear, crisp 27-inch OLED screen housing both a digital gauge cluster and infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both here, something that Genesis hasn’t offered in the past on the larger screens.
• Safety: Every GV80 gets a whole slew of updated advanced driver’s aids like lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
