Roomy, comfortable, quiet. Dependable, great on gas and overall a good vehicle. Easy to maintain, and good on the highway. Leather, dual climate control and sunroof are just some of the features on this car. Heated seats and a very spacious trunk make this car a true luxury to have.

When the average American auto consumer in the market for a reasonably priced American sedan with most of the amenities, this Ford Five Hundred is hard to beat. It's got more room than the Chevy Impala and the Dodge Charger in terms of passenger room and trunk volume. Its build / assembly quality is as good or better than the Chevy or Dodge. It only comes up short in horsepower and poor rear brake design. And to compensate for the lack of horsepower, the fuel economy of the 3.0 L Duratec v-6 is actually a tad better . ( I'm averaging a real world 19 mpg in mostly city driving and use regular unleaded fuel). When you couple that with the Five Hundred's Mazda6-inspired / Volvo safety designed body, it becomes a very hard bargain to beat. Hopefully, Ford will redesign those rear brakes. I know they will install the 3.5 L v-6 beginning in 2008.

Roomy with one of the largest trunks around. I took my wife, two kids in car seats, two portacribs, and high chair, luggage, and kids play stations on several vacations in complete comfort. Quality has been excellent. The design is nothing to get excited about, but not a big issue with me. I wasn't going for status, I was going for an afforable, comfortable, reliable car that met our lifestyle. This is it.

The Ford Five Hundred is Ford's replacement for its oft-troubled Taurus. Released in 2005, it has a sharper design-most likely a beneficiary of Ford's acquisition of Volvo.
The Ford 500 has plenty of interior room, but maintains good gas mileage for the extra cargo it may carry. The seating is much higher than that of the Taurus, giving its drivers a more commanding view of the road.
