Dodge Nitro Overview

The Dodge Nitro was launched in 2007 as a midsize SUV with a boxy-yet-sporty look. It's based on the Jeep Liberty, and has an old-school body design atop the sturdy truck-style platform. Compared to other midsize sport utility vehicles, the Nitro is on the smaller side, and reviewers praise it for its maneuverability.

A high roofline and rectilinear profile translate to plenty of headroom, legroom, and cargo capacity. They're also a nod to the Nitro's Jeep roots. The front grille, on the other hand, is all Dodge Ram; the fierce-looking front end seems a little misplaced on this cartoony bodystyle.

The Nitro's fuel economy isn't terrible for a two-ton vehicle, but compared to the Ford Escape or the Saturn Vue, it's a bit of a gas-guzzler. Still, it's got its charm, and the folks at Chrysler have high hopes for the new brand.

I love this vehicle I went with the detonator version. Top of the line and many amenities. I traded in a 300. It was time for a change and some fun. I like the navigation system, sun roof, interior style and appearance. Great ride but I did have to buy new tires. I wish it had auto headlights, a channel tuner for the radio, and backup camera. vehicle looks good and has good power,it has pleny of space for 5 adults and good cargo space.the 4wd system works great.the vwhicle is clean inside and out and is a good color combo.the only down side is it only gets 15 to 18 miles per gallon of gas.

Really Liked the styling of this ride. Not like many of the other vehicles in this category. styling of the Door Handles and fender flares are cool. Just a few touches really made the vehicle sharp. When you turn the trunk lid over to use as storage for bags/totes it rattles when empty.
