• Fuel efficiency: up to 27 mpg on the highway

Which Chevrolet Tahoe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe offers these trims:

• LS: The entry trim brings the 17.7-inch touchscreen and standard ADAS suite, making it the best-value starting point if you want the newest tech without moving up the ladder.
• LT: Adds more equipment and is the first step up for shoppers who want a more well-equipped cabin.
• RST: Adds street-performance-focused styling, and it can be paired with the 6.2-liter V8 or the diesel.
• Z71: Adds off-road hardware including full-length skid plates, front recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, 20-inch wheels, an extra one-inch lift, and 4WD-only capability.
• Premier: Adds a more luxurious setup and can be paired with the 6.2-liter V8 or the diesel.
• High Country: Adds the 6.2-liter V8 as standard equipment and sits at the top of the lineup.

What Chevrolet Tahoe do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Tahoe years with the most listings are 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Those higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you the broadest selection and the strongest mix of availability and deal opportunities. They also sit in the sweet spot where newer features and more established used-market pricing often overlap.

What is the Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

Most Tahoe model years are showing clear year-over-year price declines, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The newer years are also seeing sizable drops, so recent-model buyers may find better value than they would have a year ago. The overall pattern points to a market where prices have softened across much of the lineup.

The 2014, 2023, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Chevrolet Tahoe safe?

• 2025: 7/10
• 2021: 9/10
• 2018: 9/10

Chevy includes a standard Advanced Driver Assistance Systems suite with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system on every Tahoe.

For the safest used buy, the 2018 and 2021 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Chevrolet Tahoe now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −13.64% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −14.7%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 38.3% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 38.4%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2022 model has the most listings at a current average price of $43,598. The Chevrolet Tahoe offers a roomy cabin and strong towing ability that make it a practical full-size SUV for families and road trips.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The latest Tahoe pairs a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel that reaches up to 27 mpg on the highway.
• Tech: The latest Tahoe brings a 17.7-inch touchscreen, Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto.
• Safety: The latest Tahoe adds standard automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system.
• Starting price: The LS trim starts at $60,495.

If you're buying used today, the 2022 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
