Used Chevrolet Malibu for Sale nearGoodfellow AFB, TX

How much does the Chevrolet Malibu cost in today's market?

Used Chevrolet Malibu prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Chevrolet Malibu's current nationwide average price is $15,880, and its nationwide average price reached a low of $15,494 over the past year.

Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the Chevrolet Malibu is a strong used-car choice if you want a roomy, comfortable midsize sedan with easy-to-use tech and broad everyday appeal. The all-generations owner rating is 4.33/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Malibu for its smooth ride, comfort, spacious interior, and user-friendly technology. Across the model years, the recurring themes are a quiet, comfortable cabin, good fuel economy, and straightforward features that make it easy to live with.

Expert reviews rate the 2017 and 2016 models among the highest across all years.

The main tradeoffs show up in acceleration, refinement, and some trim-level feature content, especially in recent years where the standard engine is described as lackluster and the car trails some rivals for polish.

31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Chevrolet Malibu models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Malibu’s comfort, smooth ride, and easy-to-use features as part of its appeal. Later model years also earn praise for stronger reliability than earlier front-drive Malibus, which helps the car stand out as a practical everyday sedan.

• Owners rate the Chevrolet Malibu between 4.0 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership picture is strongest in later model years, while earlier front-drive examples deserve closer history and condition checks.

What should I look for when buying a used Chevrolet Malibu?

Across all model years, at 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

Which Chevrolet Malibu trim should I buy?

The 2017 Chevrolet Malibu offers these trims:

• L: The entry point, with the Malibu’s core midsize-sedan formula and the lowest starting price in the lineup.
• LS: A step up from the base model for shoppers who want a little more equipment while staying value-focused.
• LT: The best-value trim for many buyers, balancing features and price while also serving as the launch point for some appearance and equipment upgrades.
• Hybrid: The efficiency-focused choice, pairing Malibu space with the hybrid powertrain and strong combined fuel economy.
• Premier: The top trim, adding the most powerful turbocharged engine and the most upscale equipment, plus access to the Driver Confidence packages.

What Chevrolet Malibu do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Malibu years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

These higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a strong mix of newer features, broader availability, and a wide range of prices. More listings also give you more chances to compare condition, mileage, and deal quality.

What is the Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

Most Malibu model years are down year over year, which is good news if you want to buy used at a lower entry price. The newer models show some of the sharpest declines, while the older ones move more gradually. That pattern gives shoppers a wider spread of value opportunities across the lineup.

The 2014, 2018, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Chevrolet Malibu safe?

• 2017: 8/10
• 2016: 8/10
• 2014: 8/10

For the safest used buy, the 2014, 2016 and 2017 models all post the highest confirmed score of 8/10.
