This has been a great intro vehicle for me into the EV space. Super efficient, quick and so easy to drive. My only issue is that the lane centering assist is horrible, but i will just buy a Comma3x to get some autonomous driving on board. Other than that i couldnt be happier with my purchase.

In terms of features, the car has good quality blue tooth, sound system, radar, cruise control, seats, heated steering wheel, rear seat alerts, and trunk space. Mine happens to have leather seats and beautiful trim, which while it doesn’t improve function is nice for cleaning and appearances. The seats are not the most ergonomic, but it has wonderful head room and leg room, which was something I wanted since my family are all tall, the shortest being five-ten. It turns well, especially in reverse, which again is something I needed. And its drives smoothly. The thing I was most impressed with is its driving efficiency and energy regeneration. I’ve only had to fully charge it once, but for my daily commute I have been able to use the level one charger and retain what I used each day overnight. It does take a full 24 hours to charge fully on level one though only if you want 100%. The level two takes 9 hours, but if you only want 80% , which is probably better for the battery, it doesn’t take nearly that long. The Chevy app lets me monitor its charge and several other features, which is nice. And mine has the battery replacement and warranty, since this year has to be recalled to get the battery upgraded. All around this is a great car for daily commuting, but be sure to do your research about charging options in your area because that will limit its range and practicality immensely.

Overview

About the Chevrolet Bolt EV
The Bolt EV arrived for the 2017 model year as General Motors' first mass-market electric car. It was also considered a watershed moment in EVs for combining a range of over 200 miles and a base price of less than $40,000. Chevy kept that winning formula with a 2022 update, which brought new exterior styling, a redesigned interior, and reworked tech. The current Bolt EV is due to be discontinued at the end of 2023, but a new version is planned.
What are the advantages of the Chevrolet Bolt EV?
- Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
- Spacious
- Excellent value for money
What is the best Chevrolet Bolt EV model year?
Later models were more desirable. The 2022 Bolt EV brought standard DC fast charging and a nicer interior, while changes for 2023 were minimal. Note that all Bolt EV models beginning with the 2020 model year also have more range than earlier cars, at 259 miles.
What are the disadvantages of the Chevrolet Bolt EV?
- Inconvenient control placement
- Not much cargo space
Comparison: Is the Chevrolet Bolt EV better than the Chevrolet Bolt EUV?
As part of the 2022 model year update, Chevy introduced a second Bolt EV body style called the Bolt EUV. Meant to look more SUV-like, the EUV is 0.2 inches taller, a bit wider, and 6 inches longer than the standard Bolt EV. That translates to 3.1 inches of additional legroom, but less cargo space. The Bolt EUV also has less range (247 miles) than the Bolt EV, and cost more when new. Some models have GM's Super Cruise driver-assist system, but other than that the Bolt EV is the better vehicle.
Is the Chevrolet Bolt EV a reliable car?
J.D. Power hasn't published consumer ratings for the Bolt EV since the 2020 model year, when the electric hatchback received a score of 77 out of 100 points. The Bolt EV was also subject to a major battery recall that included replacement of battery modules in 2017-2019 models, so make sure recall work has been done on any prospective purchase.
Is the Chevrolet Bolt EV worth the cost?
The Bolt EV is one of the few truly affordable EVs that is also practical for everyday use. Substantial usable range and a low price point make it one of the best EV values around.
