Customers say
The Cadillac XLR stands out for its luxurious style, impressive performance, and the unique driving experience it offers. Owners frequently praise its stunning design and high-quality interior, as well as its sporty feel resulting from its Corvette chassis. However, some drivers have noted the absence of modern technology features, limited cargo space, and reliability concerns with certain components, particularly the retractable hardtop. Overall, the XLR is cherished for its blend of style and performance, making it a great choice for those who appreciate a standout luxury convertible.

The car is built solid there's no comparison for that year of o2 to this car but owning this car the Cadillac XLR is going to cost a lot because you cannot buy over the counter or redone parts for this car they will be 3/10 more than what the normal price would have been if the car continued to be produced

I really like how this car is made on the same chassis as the Corvette C5. I like how this car has a lot of the premium features that one would expect from a Cadillac. I think this car has tremendous value if this car is taken care of responsibly I feel that one could expect to get up to 200K miles out of it.

Reviewed a 2009 Cadillac Platinum Edition RWD on Nov 12, 2009
If you are looking for a track car this is not it. But if you need a fast, comfortable, luxurious and competent grand tourer that you can drive all day long for hundreds of miles without any fatigue, this Caddy is my first choice. Plus, it has amazing gas mileage for the performance it offers. On a recent 600+ mile trip keeping it at 80mph returned 27.7mpg with the AC on. The XLR will be discontinued after the 2009 model year so get one while they last.

Overview
The Cadillac XLR hit the ground running in 2004 and quickly established itself as a quality domestic roadster. This 2 door, 2 seat convertible gears itself towards an older, affluent crowd with its refined styling and hefty price tag. As for performance, the 4.6 L V8 engine on the base model packs 320 horses under the hood. Cadillac introduced the XLR-V trim in 2006. The enhanced 4.4 L, 443 hp V8 engine with 6 speed automatic added extra punch to the XLR family. Owners have raved about their XLR's unique combination of style and substance. With low engine noise and sleek styling, the Cadillac XLR will suit those who want to be seen and not heard.
