Customer summary
The Bentley Continental GT consistently impresses owners with its luxurious interior, powerful performance, and smooth ride across all model years. Many drivers appreciate its distinctive design and craftsmanship, which exudes elegance and sophistication. Owners often rave about the car's exceptional acceleration and handling, while also noting it can sometimes lack emotional engagement due to its quiet engine sounds. High maintenance costs are a common concern among drivers, as well as some issues with rear seat space and outdated technology in earlier models. Overall, it's celebrated for its unique blend of comfort and performance, making it a standout choice in the luxury car segment.

The car is great, smooth, elegant and very quiet. However, with all the hype around the name and the prestige, i found it not so agile as i would have wished and way overpriced.

Sumptuous large scale grandeur. Transmission outdated. Interior was like new. Plenty of power with a great exhaust note just audible through the super sound proofing. Twin turbo V8 offers torque, speed, and economy.

Very good quality built car for the money! Research definitely recommended, you need to have Audi/Bentley mechanic like myself inspect prior for best results... Similar setup to an Audi A8 but the Bentley has the better, more robust W12 Twin Turbo engine, and hand-crafted ultra luxurious interior

Overview
The Bentley Continental GT arrived in 2003 as replacement for the previously discontinued Continental R and T. It was the first of three new Continental models, followed soon after by the GTC convertible and the Flying Spur sedan. The previous Continental was built upon a Rolls Royce platform, but the new model switches to VW's D-Platform. The other two current Continental models also share this foundation. The new Continentals house a Volkswagen-engineered twin supercharged W-12, which produces 552 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. A six speed automatic transmission is another Bentley first, along with the W-12. Bentley adds a steering wheel-mounted paddle shift for manual gear changes. Much of the GT's mechanics are borrowed from the VW Phaeton, which also shares the D-Platform. Before the Spur leaves Bentley's Crewe, England assembly plant, it is eligible for many Mulliner finishing upgrades. It is not as customizable as the Azure or the Arnage, but it is also offered at a much lower price. While there is no such thing as an entry-level Bentley, shoppers should know that opting for the high-performance Spur instead of the ultra-luxury Arnage will save them about $150,000.
