Comparison: Is the BMW X4 M better than the BMW X4?

The X4 M enhances the driving experience with its powerful engine (which produces up to 503 horsepower in Competition form) and track-ready suspension. But it comes with the usual performance-car compromises, including a higher price and worse fuel economy than the standard X4. If you don’t have many opportunities to unleash its power and exploit its handling prowess, the X4 M is overkill.

Is the BMW X4 M a reliable car?

J.D. Power doesn’t break out scores for the M model, but the X4 itself has received positive feedback from owners. In J.D. Power’s 2023 customer satisfaction survey, it earned a score of 85 out of 100 points, putting it at the top of the “compact premium SUV” class.

Is the BMW X4 M worth the cost?

The X4 M can keep up with sports cars, but unlike a traditional sports car, it’s also a practical daily driver. That makes it a good option for buyers who want one car that can do everything. But shoppers who aren’t driving enthusiasts, and who just want a nice luxury SUV, should stick with the standard X4.
