The 2022 BMW 4 Series offers these trims:

• 430i: The 430i is the value-focused choice, with Sport or M Sport styling, a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine making 255 horsepower and 294 pound-feet of torque, and the standard eight-speed Sport automatic transmission. It suits you if you want the core 4 Series driving experience with the strongest balance of price and equipment.

What BMW 4 Series do most buyers choose?

The BMW 4 Series years with the most listings are 2025, 2023, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread, and more chances to find a well-equipped example. They also sit close to the sweet spot where newer features and broader availability overlap.

What is the BMW 4 Series's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it creates more room to find value. The biggest drops are concentrated in several newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples are changing more slowly. Overall, the pattern favors buyers looking for a premium coupe or convertible at a lower entry price.

The 2015, 2018, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used BMW 4 Series now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2026 model is at −8.18% versus a year ago, and the 2025 model is at −6.13%.

• Tech: The iDrive 7 system pairs a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and it also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety: Active Driving Assistant is standard on every 4 Series Gran Coupe, and the Driving Assistance Professional Package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane-centering assistance, lane-change assistance, evasive steering assistance, front cross-traffic alert, and Traffic Jam Assistant.
