Customer summary
The Audi S6 has garnered a strong following among owners for its luxurious interior and powerful performance across all model years. Many drivers appreciate its impressive handling and all-wheel drive capabilities, which enhance the driving experience, especially in various weather conditions. The technology and build quality are frequently highlighted as standout features. However, some owners note that the S6 can be pricey and may not offer the best fuel economy compared to other options. Overall, it's a high-performing sedan that balances sportiness with luxury, leaving a lasting impression on its drivers.

Excellent power, super quick and beautiful. Sounds system is awesome, but electrical problems are common. Turbo oil screen has a recall for carbon build up and repairs are expensive

I’ve watched the Audi S6 anywhere from 2007 to 2011 for the past 15 years. It’s a family oriented car being a sedan, it’s safe many airbags any lock brakes, heavy German steel and reliable engine. It’s also fun to drive for a car enthusiast, and this specific vehicle with its low mileage on one owner history will most likely draw a higher figure at an auction of collector car enthusiast in the future as long as it’s maintained well and kept a climate controlled garage.

Great car for those who entertain or drive people around a lot. The V10 is very gutsy and has great pick-up, although it feels very restricted. The car becomes more lively in second gear and seems to accelerate with a ferociousness once it gets above ~5200rpms. The car is very heavy (my guess is about 4200lbs unladen) and can be felt when pushing the car hard, both in braking and turning. Once again Audi's Quattro is very confidence inspiring, and their 40:60 split helps dial out some understeer, although it still can be provoked easily. The interior is where this car really shines, though. With bucket seats that give great support, and look great, your ass wont be moving at all once you go into the corners. Audi has also used neat little touches to the interior for at night. Such as lights that dimly light-up the other arm rests. Its the little touches like the aforementioned that helps keep Audi near the top.

Overview
The Audi S6 had a brief and odd life here in the U.S. Its first entry was simply a name change from what had previously been the S4, when the Audi 100 platform on which it was based changed its badging to the A6. This first S6 was fast, with a 2.2-liter turbo and 6-speed manual transmission, quattro all-wheel drive, and sports tuning, but it was also a heavy mid-sized sedan. While it exhibited expert handling and cornering and was speedy on the highway, its weight hampered optimal performance.
After six years off the market, the S6 returned in 2002 with a much bigger and stronger 4.2-liter, 340-hp V8 engine, a performance-tuned version of the one that sat in the Audi A8. This S6 was a little rocket, with lighter aluminum framework and a stiffer suspension that let you tear down roads with sturdy control. But it was also an Avant wagon. Although it sounds incongruous for a sports performer, the S6 came only as a wagon, meaning it offered the space, cargo capacity, and practicality of a family car, the confident road grip of quattro that you look for in an SUV, and the sports-car-like handling of a flashier racer.
Few of that S6 were sent to the U.S., and it was only in production for 2002 and 2003, so the Audi S6 is somewhat unique and rare on the road, adding to its stylish cache. (Its place was filled by the smaller and more popular S4.) It features all of the interior amenities Audi prides itself on offering, as well as sporty touches in its distinct grille, dual pipes, and chrome mirror moldings. Its biggest criticisms focused on poor gas mileage and the lack of a manual transmission, but most owners loved its drivetrain performance, maneuverability, and versatility in both city and highway situations.
After its demise in 2003, the S6 will be back with a vengeance for 2007 as both a sedan and wagon with a 5.2-liter V10 engine that hits 435 hp.
