Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Audi Pre Sense with front and rear collision preparation, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam Assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit warning, surround-view camera system, Park Assist, and Matrix-design LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation.

Which Audi A4 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A4 offers these trims:

• 40 TFSI: The value-focused choice, with the underpowered 2.0-liter turbo-four, standard AWD, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power sunroof, and real wood trim.
• 45 TFSI: The stronger turbo-four adds more punch and a reasonable step up in performance, making it the best fit if you want the A4’s balanced chassis with more urgency.
• Prestige: The top trim adds the most complete equipment set, including the full Audi Pre Sense suite, adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam Assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view camera system, Park Assist, Matrix-design LED headlights, a head-up display, and the most upscale cabin touches.

What Audi A4 do most buyers choose?

The Audi A4 years with the most listings are 2018, 2017, and 2016.

Those high-volume years tend to attract shoppers because they offer a wider selection at familiar price points. More listings also give you more room to compare condition, mileage, and equipment before you buy.

What is the Audi A4's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favor if you want a newer A4 at a lower price than it commanded a year ago. The smallest changes are concentrated among the older and newest entries in the table.

The 2016, 2023, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
